How was James Potter in Griffindor after all the pranks he pulled? That doesn't demonstrate courage.

Simple: They sort too soon, and by the wrong qualities. Sirius Black, I am guessing, only got into Gryffindor because he chanted "not Slytherin, not Slytherin", just like his godson would do all those years later...

How did Voldys AK curse destroy the Horcrux in Harry? I thought only certain things could do it (that curse not being one)

That's a good point. Technically only the Griffindor Sword or the Basilisk's Venom should be able to destroy the Horcrux.

Remember Emu's face, people; one day it's going to be on the news alongside a headline about blowing some landmark to smithereens, and then we can all sigh and say, "She was such a normal person".....
....We'd be lying though.

Other notes...
1. Horcrux is a stupid word. Definitely doesn't come off the tongue smoothly.
2. Perhaps Greyback killing all of the Griffindor students is a bit excessive, but he could have at least nawed one student's head off and carried it around in his mouth, while periodically stopping to tear some of the flesh off the face. Rowling never gave the poor guy enough credit.
3. Harry uses 2 of the 3 unforgivable curses in the book. I didn't think "good" wizards were permitted to use them.

And that's what's so ironic. Also, Fiendfyre is very complicated Dark magic, and I doubt Voldemort thought a mere student could learn how to do it...
Hey, that's just nitpicking, now.
Well, it's been confirmed that he did try to attack Lavender Brown, so that's a thumbs-up from me.
So? It's almost like Luke and the Force choke from ROTJ.

but if the AK curse could also destroy a Horcrux, Dumbledore should have told Harry to learn that, instead of pissing about in a tent looking for a sword that could've just been pulled out of the sorting hat anyway.
oh vey...
