I think it's pretty cool hair. Looks firm and bristley. I bet when he wakes up in the morning, he doesn't have to brush it. Lucky bastard.
We can confirm this by by asking on TheForce.Net. I'm sure there is some loser there who got the chance to touch his hair in some fan con crowd and went for it.

george lucas' hair hides many epic battles that are always raging on inside his locks.
in fact, if you look really close you can intermittent flashing neon lights from the lightsabers of vader and luke battling, and from the lasers of many of the fighters flying about in his hair.

Peter Brady was by far the ugliest Brady kid on the "Brady Bunch". I mean, they were all pretty ugly, and the fact that the Brady dad wanted to always take the boys out on overnight camping trips just a tad bit too often, gave me the creeps.
