So last night I was watching Robot Chicken Wars. In the beginning of the show, the credits read "Special Thanks to George Lucas" and in the end, he was credited as a "Star."

I dont know how I feel about this. Robot Chicken really laid into the prequels at times, i.e. exposing plot holes, criticizing the sappy plot, making fun of the ridiculous characters. The show made fun, but did not criticize of the OT.

Anyway, I was a little taken aback, because GL basically sanctioned this criticism. I thought to myself is he not taking it seriously anymore? Was the whole PT just a joke to him? Is making a mockery of me?

Am I overreacting or do some of you feel the same way?

I also liked the episode where the Emperor mocks Anakin
but perhaps GL is finally able to laugh at himself

Isn't possible all the mistakes and plot holes
pointed out by millions became not only

hilarious to us but to the creator/writer as well?
I dunno, theres rarilya thing about Robot Chicken i don't enjoy

I mean the stuff you said was in the show isn't there re: "Robot Chicken really laid into the prequels"

Hmm, if there were no prequels, would RC be as amusing? Why then, the absurdity of it?

The bits I saw were pretty good.

I was thinking of the remake of the ESB scene btwn Vader and Luke:

Vader: I am your father
Luke: Thats impossible
Vader: And Leia is your sister
Luke: Thats improbable
Vader: And the Empire will be destroyed by Ewoks!
Luke: thats unlikely.

Then the scene fasts forward and Luke is smoking a cigarette

Vader: And I built C 3PO as a child!
Luke: OK if youre not going to take this seriously, I'm out of here!

Among others...

... and then I watched the whole thing. Funny and on the money! Did someone here have a hand in it? Poor Walrus Man. I thought the Force.Net TaunTaun Wanker was a great metaphor. But, my friend, you errr...

Vader: And I built C 3PO as a child!
Luke: (pause) Huh?

Then the scene fasts forward and Luke is smoking a cigarette and Vader relaxing holding a drink:

Vader: And the force is just micro-bacteria in your bloodstream.
Luke: OK if youre not going to take this seriously, I'm out of here!

Funny how if you point this out sans humour, fanboys hate it. Even if you point it out with humour (a la ChefElf's original lists), they still hate it. But if you do it in as movie/TV/a short, suddenly even Grand Canon himself loves it.

But don't read the zingers here where they're more than likely to just zang. It's much funnier if you see it. Download it. It's perfectly legal. Halfway through Seth Green says "We hope you like this so much you rip it and put it on the net." :-)

I was thinking about the one
where the emperor is repremanding Vader

Emperor :You can't do anything right

Vader: (starts to cry)

Emperor:Oh so now we're sensitive.
Ever since the death of Pecan, Padecurz, Padawoma
all you've done is Bitch, Bitch, bitch!
At least i think it was Robot Chicken........

I don't see how that matches this

"I dont know how I feel about this. Robot Chicken really laid into the prequels at times, i.e. exposing plot holes, criticizing the sappy plot, making fun of the ridiculous characters."

esp in a scene which also made fun of the OT!

and the "among others" bits are...?

That scene makes fun of everything that is wrong with Lucas from ROTJ to the PT. Basically mocked all of his little "ingenious" story lines. Honestly, I dont remember other scenes, but this one in particular stands out.

If you want to think its cool or somehow permissible that Vader built C3PO thats fine, but I will think he let all of his fans down. If you want to think that just because ESB got bad reviews that means that the PT is just underrated now thats fine. But I will never agree.

So I guess we can have a never ending argument about all of this.

I know what you mean, I can't be bothered arguing about star wars much these days.

The ESB link is just to remind us all that critics scores are essentially redundant and are modelled as much after fashion as the quality of the film in question.

I do think the PT is underrated of course, and always will. Anyway, time for the next can of mountain dew.
