Tell about any and all casino experiences youve had. No matter how long ago it was.

Any casino-big or small, any city

I want to know everything...if you won money, if you lost money,.what games you played,..if your blackjack dealer's table was hot or cold,.

tell me about the buffet food,..your hotel accomodations,.rental car,..airport arrival,..walking around,.shopping,.how many days you stayed at the hotel,..your first visit?..your last visit..

did they serve up free drinks?..did you spot any celebrities at the craps table?..what games you usually play,.how much you usually spend on trips..

also,.try to list all the different casinos youve played at,.along with the city and state (or province, prefecture,.etc) of where these casinos are.

would you go back to this same casino?..where would you like to play that you have not already?
what casino have you had the best luck at..and what casino have you had the worst luck at?

whats the most youve won and lost?

Im pressed for time right now, but rest assured,.when I do have ample time to tell about my casino experiences,.youre in for an earful.

Most of the holiday places I been to a long time ago had casino style games inside. I mean the machine games mostly and they use psychology to get money out of people. Really easy to start with which was used as an encouragement everytime I loose out for temptation and that was based on unexpected reaction timings so the object of the game was not what I was thinking of.

As I said some time ago it seems to me no different to the magpie teasing the cat on a tree.

Me, I'd keep my money to myself and not for someone else's luck.

I went to a casino for an Al Stewart concert once. It was the Taj in Atlantic City.

the first time i ever went inside of any casino is 1997 at circus circus in tunica, ms.

me and a friend decided to drive out there and spend a couple of days.

the first machines i played were video poker, and about on the 3rd machine i tried,.i won $25..all in quarters.

we visited a lot of the other casinos in tunica too:

hollywood, harrahs, ballys, grand casino, sheraton, isle of capri (about an hour south in lula,ms), sams town.

we stayed the night at ballys, and had breakfast there the next morning.

the buffet line at ballys is awesome...it was the longest and largest buffet i have ever seen..and still is..i remember the breakfast being delicious...everything you could want for breakfast was there.

i went back to tunica in 2001 with a different friend,.and again..i won money there.

im thoroughly convinced that your best odds of winning are in tunica

the 2nd trip to tunica was also delightful,.we even got free lunch buffet coupons from the sheraton casino..they had peeled shrimp, steak, and a host of other great items..and i cant complain since its free.

we got free drinks at grand casino..im sure some of the other casinos also offered free drinks..but i guess i remember grand casino the best, because the drinks there were the best.

as i type this up,..im getting bitten by the bug to go back to tunica...man..i need to.

i have also been to las vegas,..stayed there for about 4 days.

i went with a friend, who had a timeshare with fairfield resorts.

we got free hotel accomodations at harrahs on the strip,.let me back up,..we were supposed to be staying at harrahs,..something got screwed up with the timeshare hotel reservations,.and we got dicked out of staying at harrahs,.and stayed about 1/4 mile east off of the strip in the clarion hotel off of flamingo.

i know some hotels in vegas are so lavish and posh,..but if youre like me..youre hardly ever in your hotel room anyways,..youre out and about on the strip

and thats exactly what we did,.we combed the strip from about noontime,.till around 5am in the morning,...oooowwww,..did my legs hurt from walking around so much

and about the timeshare,..we had to attend this dumb meeting,.where they try to coerce and peer pressure you into buying a timeshare. it didnt work for us,.because we are tough as nails when we dont want something sold to us.

the salesman, gave up after about 30 minutes of trying to talk us into us,..so then he left the room..and went and tag-teamed his associate..who wasnt so nice,.and acted firmly and rigid with us. this guy was a total asshole to us,..and he wanted us to buy his crappy timeshare. we said no,.after about an hour long discussion with him...needless to say,..they still gave us free vouchers for a dinner buffet at the rio...and yes...the rio's buffet is stellar!

at the rio, you can eat lots of different foods...sushi, steak, lobster, shrimp, italian ice cream, pizza, burgers, tacos, mexican,.pasta,..just about anything

we hit a lot of the casinos in vegas,..in vegas,.there is soooo much to do,.and so little time...you cant see and do everything in vegas on one trip,..its impossible..cant be done.

but i did see: mandalay bay, luxor, imperial palace, flamingo, harrahs, fitzgerald, golden nugget, bellagio, 4 queens, rio...it seems like there was much more...

this was in july of 2004...the palms had just opened,.and steve wynn was just breaking ground on the wynn towers,.and the monorail had just opened.

I have also played at some of the riverboats in saint louis..i think there are like 3 or 4 of them by the saint louis arch.

i have been to kansas city too,.almost the same as saint louis,..but maybe a few more casinos.

on a recent trip to rapid city south dakota,.i went to deadwood,..there are casinos there..deadwood is a nice city that has a late 1880's pioneer feel to it...it even spawned a television series on HBO...its worth checking out.

my verdict is this,...go to tunica if you want to win money...go to vegas if you seek entertainment.

i dont think very many people win money in vegas,.unless they are card sharks or something...the average joe and jane doesnt stand a chance..im somewhere in between,.and i didnt fair out too well either.

i have also been to a few indian casinos here and there...many of them dont stack up to REAL casinos,..some of the newer indian casinos have a vegas feel to them,..but still seem bare bones in comparison.

as i write this, im also planning my first trip to shreveport louisiana..im psyched about it..although i have read some bad things among the good things ive heard...i guess ill find out for myself when i get there. ..and once i get back..ill report on everything.

Wow, you must really like casinos. Me, I've been to a few, but they're not really my thing. The casinos here in Vancouver are impersonal clip joints, although the RiverRock in Richmond has been fairly successful in garnering resurrected celebrity talent. Reently we had Don Rickles here, and a little while back Joan Jett! I wouldn't go see a pop star at a casino though; it'd be too much like necrophilia. A comedian maybe.

Vegas is different. There they get stars in their prime, or revival shows well worth watching. I went on a solo road trip last year that took me to the Grand Canyon via Vegas, and I stopped at the Rio to see Penn and Teller. They were great as always. I was a little early, so I put a twenty into one of those $1 slot machines, the kind with a secondary option for making bug cash if you bet double (with some, it's triple). I think it was "Wheel of Fortune," and on the second pull ($4 in), I won $120. I took the money and ran to the show. Later I spent some more of it at the Bellagio buffet, and I watched the Pirates of the Carribbean sequel at the United Artists theatre. I though it kinda sucked; hope the third one's less muddled.

I went back to the Rio after the movie, all flushed with my previous success, to see if I could recreate the experience. I walked up to a similar machine, and put in a ten just as this gal I hadn't seen was walking up to it. Apparently she'd been wanting to play that one. I offered to give it to her for $10, but she declined. I won like crazy on that machine, while she quickly lost $20 on its neighbour. I found it pretty amusing, and we got to talking. As it happened she was a performer in an all-nude show at another casino. I showed her some photos of my trip and she asked about the San Fransisco ones, which as it happened were on a separate card I'd left in my car. I found it a bit unusual that I was sitting on the hood of my car looking at vacation photos with a stripper I'd just met. Anyway, since that was in the parking lot of the Rio, I think it qualifies as a Casino experience. She was real nice and fun to talk to, and no, I didn't drool all over her about her job like a lot of guys would.

I went to Vegas once for a military exercise. I won 30 dollars on the quarter slots, then the flight engineer told me id win more money if I played the dollar slots… I lost $60 in less than 3 minutes. That was the end of my gambling career.

But we did go to a bunch of casinos and walk around. Some of the guys I was with played roulette and black jack, and I just stood around being bored.

The Luxor was awesome. So was the Bellagio.

Fun stuff, but I bet it would get old if you were there for more than a few days. And I didn’t go down to the strip during the day. That would have been kind of gay.

ha ha..that reminds me of when me and my friend went to a casino. there was a machine that took $100.00 bills. It offered the chance of winning $1 million dollars. ..and no, we didnt insert franklins into this infernal machine. Most players who hit the jackpot do so just playing the regular standard machines.

Im sorry to hear that you lost your interest in gambling. My advice to you is to play a video game like Caesars Palace, etc. and work on your skill, that way youre not risking any financial loss. It will also help to restore your love of casinos. Once you feel ready, go back to the casinos, and Im sure youll have more fun and luck at it.

Yeah, video games are where it's at. I could fly an airplane after playing some of those flight sims! tongue.gif

I've never even been in a casino, nor gambled. Every few months on a whim I'll buy a scratch-off card and confirm the fact that I didn't win anything from it, but that's about it. I hear that the slots these days don't even have pull levers or anything. :-( You just swipe some card and it spins for you. I will never use this machines because for me slots are about putting quarters in, pulling a lever with a satisfying "you're moving machinery" feeling, and hoping some quarters spit out.

Gambling in general kind of sucks. Unless your betting on the horses.

...or unless your winning. i have yet to met anyone playing the slots who has the lights and sounds going off, and getting flooded with quarters upon quarters, and asking me if i want all these dumb quarters

i mean, that just doesnt happen, ever.
