WHAT!?!?!?!?

DC has Batman and now that that franchised
has been saved they should be riding high.
Although, Bats does seem to

be their bread and butter.
Superman Returns wasn't awful and theres talk
of some Wonder Woman stuff and.....

ok, ok DC fracked

they desperately need to
generate movie interest in
there other Heros fo'sho'

There's talk of a JLA film, with a first draft turned in a few months ago, with the classic 7 line up: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter.

Will it happen? Who knows...

Yeah, that would be awesome, but who would ever sign up for it? sad.gif

I've heard that Routh and Bale are contractually obligated to do a team up film which could entail a JLA film, but don't quote me on that.

Spidey 3 was a shitstorm of epic proportions. Almost as massively disappointing as Episode 1. I say reboot the franchise in 5 years with new actors.

and please dont blame Raimi for Spidey 3's poor quality; there's a man by the name of Avi Arad who is responsible for that. Legend has it that Raimi wanted to focus solely on Sandman, which would have made the movie 100x better. Arad insisted (i.e. FORCED) Raimi to squeeze Venom into the storyline for the fans...told him he was "being selfish" for not wanting Venom in there.

i think the storyline would have been much better, sans sandman. just make it a story about spidey and venom, and somewhere in there have the balance of spidey having to choose power over his love for mj.

How about just Spidey versus New Goblin? Everyone knows that three villains don't make your movie better; just ask Richard Lester. Superman II, anyone? biggrin.gif

I agree, it should have just focused on the conflict of Spidey/Pete against Green Goblin 2/Harry.

As for Superman II, well that's a whole other story unto itself.

I like Bale as Bats, but I don't care for Routh at all, so if by some bizarre chance Routh ended up replaced by someone else, preferably an older actor, I wouldn't really mind.

But I guess that's all up to the powers of WB.

No, just Lex Luthor. The three Kryptonians were only featured in the prologue. They were released, however, in Superman II. Perhaps if Richard Donner had won out, the whole multiple supervillains plot wouldn't be so unwieldy, but if not even Sam Raimi can figure out how to properly implement that sort of thing, then I doubt Donner would have been able to. sad.gif

Alas, we'll never know. We have only "The Donner Cut" to give us a rough idea of what Donner might have accomplished had the Salkinds not fired him.

Then there were the Batman films where you got more villains with each film prior to the franchise falling apart in 1997.

Well, that was partly Tim Burton's fault, as he decided to shove the Penguin (a grotesque Danny DeVito), Catwoman (a campy Michelle Pfieffer), and Christopher Walken doing his schtick as a wacko industrialist into the same movie with a brooding, understated Michael Keaton. Not the best decision in the world. sad.gif

Wow. It's not often that I find folk who're willing to criticize Tim Burton's Batman films. Or for that matter, criticize Tim Burton in general. Very interesting change of pace here.

Personally I found nothing campy about Michelle Pfeiffer's performance. You want campy, look no further than Uma Thurman in B&R along with Arnold Schwarzenegger, whose films I usually enjoyed.
