DAMNIT SUPERHERO MOVIES!

STOP KILLING OFF YOUR VILLAINS! >:-(

Superheroes aren't murderers. I mean, occasionally, someone kills someone. But usually it's villains who do that. And when heroes DO kill people, it's a big deal. You can't just bump someone off at the end of the movie. It's CHEATING! They have to bring someone back.

That’s a shabby argument. Crap movies make money all the time. For some reason, be it boredom or just stupidity, human beings like to spend their money on stupid crap. Just because they make money doesn’t mean their doing something right - all it means is they’re good at marketing fecal material.

Considering the enormous advertising campaign that Spiderman 3 had, I'm not exactly shocked that it's raking in the dough.

Agreed all around in this one. I just don't get the obsession with killing off the bad guys in comic book films is. I mean the "Punisher" I can understand and even Wolverine in "X-Men" because these two have long been established as individuals that cross that line, but really, the rest of them! More often than not they actually make a deal out of the no killing code.

It's the one fundamental thing these guys ALL keep getting wrong regardless of the overall quality of the various films in question.

Well i didn't stay to watch
the credits at the end of Spidey but
thats usually when they show the
audience they havent killed the villian
(ex. Fantastic Four, Daredevil)

I would not be surprised if that piece
of the symbiote that Prof. Conners
has escapes and leeches off someone else.
Of course in doing so that would move
the story in a God awful direction

since Eddie Brock is Venom.
Unless...... that piece of Venom
becomes Carnage. Interesting there
maybe be hope for the franchise yet.

First of all, superhero movies are cool and it shows the public repsonds well to them when they top the movie charts for at least one week they first come out. Not all superhero movies kill their villians. In Spider-man 1, Green Goblin died an expected death. Norman Osborn had to die for that one. In the second, it's doubtful Doc Ock really died. I mean, we saw his body fall underwater but who's to say he didn't swim off somewhere? I know that would be stretching it but in comic book land anything is possible.

You make it sound like all comic book movies kill off their villians. This is not true. No villian was killed in the X-Men movies except for Stryker in part 2. In the Superman movies, Lex Luthor is never killed or for that matter never really harmed. With the exception of Batman and Batman Begins, at least one of the villians were spared; i.e., Catwoman, Riddler, Poison Ivy, and the Scarecrow. In Fantastic 4 we have Dr Doom who survives and the Daredevil allows the Kingpin to face time for his crimes.

Technically, Harry Osborn was not really a villian and Sandman reforms at the end. So the only one who really bit it was Venom and that's kind of doubtful to me. I think deaths in the movies have to happen though sometimes because you really don't want the same villian popping up again and again unless it's Magneto. Only him because his storyline ties into the progression of the rest of the story.

That Deathstrike chick dies in X-2 also
and Bullseye survives in Daredevil
lets not forget Elecktra....
but message received.

I mean what could the comic book /movie gain
from establishing a whole new character
I guess they bring 'em back so that we
have a base to start from.

Knownig the history and animosity
between characters leads to big bucks

Okay, point taken. I forgot about Deathstrike. As for Elektra, she really didn't die though...
