welcome to the virtually unknown video game console thread. a thread to discuss consoles that are virtually unknown, or had a short demise, or were only created for a certain part of the world: (Japanese market, european market, etc)
This thread, for the most part, will work sort of like a game. Someone will post a link to video game system they found, and then the next person will post another link for a different system.
The thread keeps on going until no more rarely known systems can be found.
The last person to post a link for a system that has not been previously posted wins this thread. Likewise, the person who supplied the last link, is also deemed the current winner, until someone else is able to find a console that has not yet been posted, to steal their crown.
good luck!
I will start off this thread with this little gem: The "FM Towns Marty"

That console's ... interesting. lol. Looking at the game library it has, though, I'm kind of surprised it didn't come over here. Sure, most of the titles were out for PC already, but c'mon! You're playing it on your TV! ....yeah, I guess it isn't that great a novelty.
The only 'unknown' console I know of was Sega's Nomad handheld. Playing Genesis games on a handheld was a dream come true for a kid in grade 6. But I was never able to get one.
I could only imagine how long the batteries would last in that thing, though. LOL!

hey, good call on the sega nomad. i consider myself to be quite an avid gamer, and ive only come across one of those ever being on display for testing out. I have seen a few of them at collector nostalgia-type shops,..but not too often.
the sega nomad was a true battery drainer. when i tested it out, it had the Comix Zone cartridge inside, and played flawlessly like on the Genesis
oh..guess its my turn to name another rare console...(drumroll)...here we go...
"The Mega Duck-Cougar Boy!!"
