Thanks to whoever posted a transcription of Monday's comic (on the Ohnorobot transcription server by the lovely Ryan North)! Lance and Eskimo is almost exhaustively searchable thanks to our combined efforts. Excellent stage directions, too.

Today's transcription (for No Superman) is the first one I edited.

My beloved anonymous transcriptionist had the talk bubble "It's called... violence" coming from Eskimo; I changed the transcription to reflect my original intention which was that it was coming from the doctor, who I guess knows Krys from her previous visit(s). Honestly, it does make more sense for Eskimo to remember Krys's previous emergency room visit than the doctor, but since further dialogue depends on that doctor's knowing Krys anyway it's not like changing the alignment of that talk bubble would make the strip as a whole make more sense. I like different readings and I do think some things are up for interpretation, but in this case, I figured I'd go with my own interpretation since, if I'd done my job right, there'd be no ambiguity.

Also, my BAT (I like that acronym) called the doctor on the right of panel 1 a guy. I intended her to be girl. Upon further inspection, s/he could go either way. So in the transcription I used the name "Hospital Staff Girl, or Maybe Guy."

It's kind of reassuring that, after years of all my men looking like women, all my women now look like men.

Anyway, thanks again for all your hard work BAT (BATs?), your transcriptions continue delightful little surprises in my inbox! Surprises like some M&Ms you found in the pocket of your purse, not like your cat leaves at your door.

I'm posting for two reasons....

1. to ask "is that blood on the small towel?"

and 2. if you post 4 times in a row people are going to tthink you're crazy.

Hell, this is nothing. I've been known to post four comments in a row on my own blog entry.
