If (like I suspect)it's the latter, then may I congratulate you on being needlessly obnoxious. That was an utterly brilliant way to miss the entire point of a legitimate post made in the hopes of fostering a greater global understanding. My hat is tipped to you, good sir. no, i still dont understand gmt, so enlighten me with your explanation of why the world should all be on what britons think is the correct time. ....and no,..i wasnt being a smartass,.im just perplexed as to why the entire world should adapt to a singular format.

Because it makes it easier to work out time all over the world, since if I'm in GMT and you're in GMT+4, I just add four hours to my time and I've worked out yours.
