The Internet Is So Boring Thursday, April 5, 2007

Typically there would be a month lull where there wasn't as much interesting stuff but then it would swing back. For the past year or so I've only been bored by everything. There isn't really any content that I can find that I want to read. These days there will generally only be enough things to keep me entertained for 20-25 minutes in the morning while I have my tea.
I just checked out twitter today because I was sick of hearing all the tech podcasts blathering on about it and it entertained me for about as long as I would have expected (10 minutes).
I need a new hobby. My attention span has shrunk to the point where the only video games I can tolerate are minigames. Even Wario Ware's 3 second games are almost too long for me to focus on lately.
What is a guy to do? I think I need to go finish my awesome novel: Castles: The Princes That Fought.

but wait,..before you even start to concoct a debate or reply,..ask yourself this,..what exactly is the internet?
the internet is basically an information forum wound together of countless upon countless pages and sites bringing you information on literally, everything.
so, to say that youre bored with the internet, isnt really what you are saying.
i feel that youre burned out maybe, by visiting the same repetitive sites you may visit.
when the internet first came onto the scene,.(to most people) roughly 10 years ago,..it was sheer bliss,..it was many things to many people (and still is)...
it reunited old friends,.gave insight to millions upon millions of topics
so what has happened?...
you can think of the internet as most middle-aged people view sex.
the internet, like sex,is totally awesome when youre young...its a new thing to you,..the opposite sex looks fresh and exciting to you,..so many options,..who to date? who to talk to? everything is being thrown at you at once,..you get in the game,..you indulge,.you cant get enough,..you keep wanting more and more and more,....you meet more people,.have more adventures,..then some bad things happen,..like viruses (both in real life and the cyber,.ha ha) ...sometimes kids happen,..sometimes tears are shed,..heartbreaks,.etc
dating,..sex..like the internet,.is still good,.it still excites you....but not to the unprecedented rate it did when you were first introduced to it.
youve explored every position...tried everything...dated every race,.youve done everything youve wanted to do,..and now you ask yourself,...now what?
im bored.
it still interests me,..but i want to try something new,...but i cant think of nothing new to do,.cause everything i wanted to do online...ive already done..
then you proclaim to your inner demons....im bored with the internet
its not that youre bored, my friend...its that, you dont know where else to turn
you want something fresh,..my advice to you?....take a break from the web,.go outside,.hike a mountain..fish a lake,..take your lover to a fancy restaurant,..get out and do something that is simplistic and enjoyable,..get your mind away from the internet for a change....give your mind a much needed a break,..and get some fresh air
after you do this,.let me know how you feel
ciao

The Internet is a series of tubes!!!
Chefers: Maybe try Jay is Games. But if you have a < 3 second attention span, maybe you need to stop watching some TV and make yourself read a good book until you re-learn some patience or something...

Wow. It must be a burden to be so wise and spiritual. I wonder if this elevated level of wisdom and spirituality has damaged your ability to ever use an ellipsis properly.

Something that you can take apart, tweak or modify and replace worn parts.
But that is something that requires money and space.
Sometimes when something is taken for granted the foreseen value of it drops and eventually appears old or boring. When it is taken away I have seen people beg for it. Also some people are so use to living in their past. For me my rigid gaming interest lives in the past.

or perhaps a caeser shift.
Remember Emu's face, people; one day it's going to be on the news alongside a headline about blowing some landmark to smithereens, and then we can all sigh and say, "She was such a normal person".....
....We'd be lying though.

Bon soir.
and what are you, "mr. 13 post new cop", some sort of english major about to school me on how and what to write?
you certainly seem like your posed to give feedback on how posts should be constructed in threads, but youve been with chefelf since 2004, and have only posted 13 posts since then.
..and if you dont like the way i post, youve got much to learn. there are many posters here who have their own unique style of posting. im sure if you ever pitched your rant to trujade (who by the way, is known for her own unique stanza-esque style) she'd give you her advice as well.
you know exactly where you can go right now, and i can use my left foot to kick you there

Does anyone else remember that political couple in Dune (the book, neither of the movie-izations featured them) that, while talking to other people, also communicated secret subtext to eachother with a series of hums & "umm"s & "err"s?
That was pretty boss.
