it's shah-den-froid-uh. In German you pronounce every letter, so if there's an E on the end you add a syllable.

Sorry Yahtzee, the problem is that the phonological features of this word changed when it was imported into the English language, according to the English set of letter-to-sound rules. So when you speak in English and just want to be a smartarse by tossing around such exp​ressions, the e at the end is indeed silent. I checked in the Merriam-Webster dictionary to see if I'm right, and I am. geek.gif (Of course, if you use it in German, then you're 100% correct.)

Personally, I think "pronouncing it differently in the English language" is a big crock of monkey snot. The word is pronounced shah-den-froy-duh in the German language, and every single (intelligent) person I've ever heard using this word pronounces it this way. Just because you're retarded and don't know how to pronounce it doesn't mean we're going to change it to make it easier for you; I don't care if it IS in the English dictionary.

It's like putting the word "nucular" and "turrorists" in the English dictionary because our glorious leader can't seem to learn how they are really pronounced.
