Now that I look at it on the Internet, I feel ashamed, but it looked pretty okay on paper...
http://img.photobuck...5das_exrael.jpg

I cleaned it up with a mouse, so it looks weird. Sorry about the anime style - I can't draw realistic very well, and I have no knowledge of muscle! Aw, I just realised that Trilby's fingers were covered up. They looked pretty good, too. XP

Comments? AJ looks like a poor businessman with a bowl-cut, and Simone's face is elooongated. Okay, I'll shut up now and let you talk. ^^

My critical observations as follows:

First of all, it's become a bit of a cliché to just line up the characters up on the poster capturing a facial gesture that expresses their personality, with their size proportional to their importance in the plot. Makes the poster sort of uninteresting. On an effective movie ad poster, you're supposed to put in some events of action, too, for the audience can have a glimpse of what to expect. Also, it makes the thing more dynamic.
Second, what happened to Trilby's chin? It looks seriously burnt or something. Also, his hat seems to be a bit small if we take the size of his head into the equation. Although I'm not 100% sure about that.
Third, which is only a really minor niggle, AJ had a moustache. So it took me a while to figure out who that bloke in the back was.

Otherwise, I really like your drawing style, mainly because the males look like they're indeed males, not like females without tits ('cept for Jim, maybe, now that I take a closer look), as can be seen in most anime fanart. Also, you draw the facial expressions very well, it reflects the characters' personalities nicely.

I'm not good at praise but right at home with criticism. Occasionally for this reason I worry that people think me totally jaded. But it's a good image. Assume everything I don't refer to in the following text is alright.

Okay.

Why do people find it so hard to draw trilbies? There are pictures of the damn things everywhere from all sorts of angles and with recent fashion trends you probably know at least one person who owns one. With the trilby fedora the brim dips at the front and rises at the back. What you have there is a fishing hat.

Trilby's collar is massive for someone who prides himself on his dress sense. A fastened collar should hug the neck pretty tightly. Definitely shouldn't be seeing any chest or collar bone.

AJ should have a moustache. And be, like, ten years older.

Jim looks like a girl.

Phil is too cute.

Simone's eyes look weird. Hard to describe. Like they're floating an inch off the front of her face.
As I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, I realised that it could do with a lick of paint.

I also doesn't really capture the essence of 5DAS...and Trillby looks a bit weedy.

I do not aim to piss you off with this, but that's what the hat looked like in your first game, only that that one was a little bit taller at the front. But you're right, this was bugging me as well about the picture, only I couldn't put my finger on what it was exactly before.

Thanks for the criticism! I'll try to come up with something with more wit, motion, and work. Also, I might make my first tablet-ed colored picture a Yahtzee fanart. ^^

@Yahtzee: Ack, yeah, I need to work on my suits. Also, sorry about the hat - it's probably your favorite feature of Trilby.
@Thaluikhain: Haha, I did think he looked like a wasted Superman while drawing it.

About AJ, sorry - I only watched the first part with him running away for a reference. Something I thought was funny about the turnout of this picture was that I usually draw girls a LOT better and faster than guys. Weird...

Back to studying for finals!

I think this is probably due to that face you can see her eyebrows through her hair.

I like it very mucho, nice work Exrael.

Thank you! I kind of regret putting it up now, so I'll try my best to make a better one. When I get an idea for it.
I uploaded this on my sister's laptop, and the computer I used is Internet-less - therefore, no reference pictures of suits or whatnot. Just drawing from my memory, which sucked, apparently. X(

Your memory appears to be fine, except that Jim wore a school uniform, i.e. a shirt. And AJ's moustache, but then I never realised he had a moustache either - I just thought he had a big mouth, or was slack-jawed, or something.

EDIT: Hang on, Jim did wear a short-sleeved shirt. My memory appears to be the crap one.

I think its too manga/anime like. We have enough of that in the world, we don't need any more, learn to draw proper like.

Sorry, but I'm a right 'bah humbug' around anime styled fan art. And Jim does indeed look like a girl.

Other than that you can draw damm well better than me, so keep it up.

There's nothing wrong with the anime/manga style. It's perfectly good work. Just a lot of people who suck do it too.

My problems with it...

The welder's too much in the background, he looks like he's a stove, not a villain, and Trilby's trilby ain't a trilby. Also, I don't think he should have that stubble, but hey, spend five days cut off from the world... It's bound to happen. So good job there, I guess... I dunno, I suck at praise.

PM me, we'll talk.

Maybe, but we will always need more awesomely awesome fanarts, careless of their style.

Ah, so that thing on Trilby's chin was a 5 day growth of beard. That makes sense, I guess.

Don't regret putting it up, it's good! (You should have seen the crowd here when they don't like the art).

Although Jim does look like a girl. A very cute girl, I might add.
