Sad thing is, people'd STILL buy it.
Most likely...like if he actually did make "5 Days a skeptic" for all them people who get them mixed up, I'd still probably be interested...
As long as he doesnt make anymore Trilby games, Im happy, Notes and 6Days sucked! Glad I didnt pay for them.
Though I wouldn't go that far, tacking an uber-daemon thingy that wants to devour the world in, and messing a tad with the continuity with "Trilby's Notes" (not to mention deviating from the name formula) didn't help. The Tall Man was cool (well, until I found out that he didn't have a blank face, it was a mask, and that wasn't an umbrella, it was a hurty bladed thing), but Chzo wasn't.
That sort of "power creep", where the next threat is much worse than the last is a bit lame...I think Yahtzee ranted about it in his archive...oh, and "survival horror" being "wander round in search of a key" as well.
Going back and forth in time (sort of) was kind of cool, but if the cult knows what will happen on the Mephistopheles, how come they don't know what will happen in the underground lab 200 odd years earlier?
BTW, "Pain Elemental"...it goes air, water, fire earth and pain? Or is this the Eastern variety of wood, metal, air, water, fire and pain?
Now, off to build a time machine to send a cyborg assassin to the past to kill whoever gave Yahtzee the idea for Chzo.
