If you know of any games for console systems that are crap and suck, please list them here. Id like to stick to just console based games, so no PC games please.

hopefully, this thread can become a useful resource for gamers everywhere, giving them advice on which titles to avoid before they embark on playing them.

Here are some games that suck (in no particular order)

1. Unlimited Saga (Ps2)
2. Donkey Kong Country 3 (SNES)
3. Broken Helix (PSone)
4. Superman 64 (N64)
5. nhlpa hockey 93 (SNES)
6. orphen (ps2)
7. killer 7 (ps2)
8. Oni (ps2)
9. glover (n64)
10. RPG maker (psone)

thats all the games I think of for now, but I will certainly post more later

Oh how dare you, I LOVED Orphen: Scion Of Sorcery! blushing.gif There's no accounting for taste though, but I wouldn't recommend playing:

1) Blazing Dragons (PS1) (maybe the worst game ever)
2) Rebel Assault II (PS1)
3) Bart vs. The Space Mutants (Sega MD)

I'd have to just add any sporting game and nearly every game on a playstation console. But that's my opinion.

Also, I liked Donkey Kong Country 3. Sure, it was weaker then 2(and had a really stupid final ending), but it was much better then DK64.

The worst game I've ever played is Attack of the Saucerman on the PSone. That game has some good ideas behind it: you're an alien who shoots stuff, the plot is completely nuts (you crash-land into Area 51, then travel through time into 19th century London, and then I quit playing because the game sucks) and... did I mention you get to shoot stuff? It features hordes upon hordes of little annoying furry yellow creatures, though, but you get to shoot most of them as well.

However, playing that game is a pain in the ass. It's impossible to get the alien to do what you want, because the controls are so clunky. It's like your character's permanently drunk. The graphics are so pixelated, you can't tell a soldier from a potted plant. And the sound... The doctor made me promise I wouldn't even think of that or I might collapse. I quit playing it after three or four levels because nothing in it works, especially the controls. A quick Google search suggests that most of the world has forgotten about that game, and it's better that way.

I can't think of any other horrifying games, mostly because I'm generally very picky and won't buy a game unless I'm absolutely sure it will rawk. Although I do agree that Donkey Kong Country 3 was crud (never played DK64).

EDIT: Looking at my signature made me remember Zelda 2. It's mighty quotable, but playing it still annoys me. I like challenge in video games, but this game's just plain frustrating.

Gobbler, you ph34r.gif I wanted to tell him off.

Seriously, I was reading that list he made, and I went like: 'Yes... yes... FF8, YES... y- hey WTF?' FF9 should be put into a hall of shame, how could someone in their right mind produce such garbage?

My sentiments most exactly.

I said "nearly every" for a reason. Though I've never really gotten into the Final Fantasy games (I much prefered Chrono Cross, I think I've gone into detail on the favourite FF game thread) and always hated the Tekken series (too much emphasis on pre-made combos, it was almost impossible to pick up and play). Let's see, games for the psx that I actually played and liked were Metal Gear Solid, Medievil/Medievil 2 (though the first was better), Wargames, Chrono Cross, Broken Sword 2 (never played the first) and Tomba/Tomba 2. That isn't to say that there aren't other good games out there, butr that's all that come to mind that I have played. Also, multiplatform games may be exempt from that list, as I have no idea if games I played on PC/N64 and liked also came out on PSX.

So, consider those few games and compare them to the list of hundreds of rubbish games that were mass produced for that console, and you can see why IMHO nearly every game on that console was a waste of time.

Silent Hill was great and still is. Vagrant Story is even better, and anyone who didn't play and love Driver can't be a human being at all. Enough said about FF and Metal Gear already. I bow before the great Slime, as he seems to have played ALL PS1 games to judge that "nearly all" are crap. Oh, or includes "nearly every game on a playstation console" all PS2 games as well? Oh boy....

honestly..i was once just like you...i hated final fantasy IX..seriously I did. Its easy to see why many hate it, after coming off the Final Fantasy VII & VIII, with their rather dark premise and setting to them,.Squaresoft released IX, and the tone was taken in an entirely different direction.

IX isnt what VII and VIII are. Trying to compare IX to them wouldnt make much sense. It took me a while before I started to enjoy IX, it takes an open mind...that which includes not trying to associate the characters of IX with Cloud, Barret, Squall, Rinoa, Yuffie, etc....because IX is simply a different game. But then again,..isnt each Final Fantasy a complete a different story from each other?...and if so,..why do most Final Fantasy games still insist on having airships and a character named Cid?

Usually people that loathe IX are people that usually hold some other Final Fantasy title in high regard. Why? Because just like the rest of us, they fell in love with some other Final Fantasy title before IX was released, and when IX didnt hold the benchmark to that previous title...they found themselves not enjoying IX at all. I too..had once rode tall on my Final Fantasy highhorse,.the resolve is that you must be willing to switch horses. Final Fantasy IX is not the best FF title I have ever played, but it has its own uniqueness,..such a uniqueness,..that it constrasted very much from the direction that VII and VIII were in.

IX is one of those games that may or may not be enjoyed on the first outing. There were legions of Final Fantasy fans that played IX as soon as it was released, and coming off the rush that they were given by VII and VIII, they tried to make some sort of association within IX,..when they found IX to be different, they dropped it like a dead duck, never touched it again,.and let this bad memory set in like a deep chip on their shoulders. Its ok,.maybe to this day, you still dont like IX,.and thats cool..It wasnt a game that drew instantly popularity and success. Not every one likes the same Final Fantasy titles, or video games for that matter, if we all agreed on the same things, it would make out for a pretty boring world, wouldnt it?

But why attack just the playstation console? By your logic and reason, that would pretty much apply to any console that was released. Some more than others. I can think of other consoles that had worse titles released for them than Sony's Playstation. Atari Jaguar, anyone?

Difference is that Atari Jaguar didn't sell a million bajillionity units, so it's not going to take much flak, is it?

You're terrible, Yoshi's Island is one of the best platformers ever! It's primarily a puzzle game though, so if you're into traditional Mario and Sonic stuff I can see how you wouldn't be attracted to it.
