They're still missing the eponymous one, in my opinion; Stonehenge.

Come on, its thousands of years old, and its made of huge stones carried somehow all the way from Wales. And its a huge stone circle. If that's not a wonder, then you can eat my socks.

Stonehenge is one of the options you can vote for. It's in the middle of the bottom row next to the Opera House from Australia biggrin.gif

Chyld, for shame! More of your sluttish ignorance, no doubt. They do indeed have Stonehenge. And I'll prove it to you by virtue of my underlined text.

EDIT: In my search for correct wording and my sloth I was beaten to the punch.

Alas.

EDIT2: I failed to search for the correct wording in 'EDIT' and as such the wording was wrong.

Alas again.

Mr Supes, I do hope you'll fix that quote.

Only I changed it after you quoted it.

And now it is different.

But it's fine if you don't.

Well, that's fancy.

The quote, she is fixed.

I originally wrote 'In my precision' or something equally not to my liking.
So I went to change it.

But you quoted me afore I managed to change it.

So there was a discrepancy. But now she appears to have corrected herself.

Unless you fixed it and are being aloof about it.

The Statue of Liberty is not a wonder.
The Eiffel Tower? Not a wonder.

If those two are up for consideration, why not the CN Tower? I think it's a bit more of a "wonder", being the tallest free standing structure in the world and all.

Because the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower were built by the French.

It's a wonder they [insert french joke]!

Naw, they're wonders because they're aesthetically pleasing, as opposed to CN Tower, which is just a building.

PS - Anyone got a good French joke for right there? Because I've got nothing at all.

Okay, but a national landmark isn't a "wonder" per se. I would think that in order to qualify as a "wonder" these things had to actually amaze people in more than a "wow, pretty!" sense.

Agreed. Some of these things aren't wonderous at all. That's why I prefer things like the old temples and Stonehenge/Easter Island.

The Eiffel Tower could be considered a wonder because it was a pioneer in that method of building which has now brought us all our skyscrapers. And I guess the Statue of Liberty because it's a really really big chick. I agree that the Eiffel Tower is awesome and I guess it would be a wonder, but not one of The Seven Wonders of the World. Statue of Liberty, meh.

Who do they think they are, to be able to redefine the 7 wonders, anyway?

The statue of liberty sould not be properly considered until Peter has drunk enough for her to take her clothes off.
