The problem about having lucid dreams is that the Subconscious will do everything it can to stop you from having them. If it fails, it will try everything to wake you up. Including beaultiful women, monsters, zombies and dinossaurs. So, having a lucid dream inside DeFoe's Mansion is a very bad idea.

I had a mixed up dream last night. Among others, one of which I was a deer in a forest, leaping around all spritely-like. In /this/ particular messed-up dream, The Tall Man [Somehow still really terrifying even after knowing the ending to 6DAS] with green humanesque facial features was in the same house I was, one from my childhood. Weird. Anyhow, the strangers I was with asked me to light some candles of protection, so I did. Only they were behind us, not between us and where we knew the Tall Man was going to appear. Therefore, any protection charms bestowed on these candles were going to be of no use at all. Unless we roasted marshmallows, I guess...AAANYWAY! Somehow, this didn’t faze any of us.
The Jehovah’s Witness who knocked on my door the other day was one of the people in the room, I was just thinking how strange it was that she didn’t object to this small token of protection magick when the door burst open and in came The Tall Man.
Of course, we were all terrified.
Someone pushed a 6’ 6” carved hardwood staff into my hand so I tried to poke the Tall Man with it, to stop him advancing on us.
How comical. Can anyone imagine the Tall Man swaying and dodging from a staff??? He’d snap it like a twig!
I could see this wasn’t helping, that we were probably all going to learn “the name of the King” very soon. Tall Man was trying to pull the staff from my hands when I woke up…Huh? What’s pushing on my leg?
I flick my lamp on and find the things on the bedside table have all been knocked over, my phone was pushed up against my thigh like some modern shield equivalent…and I had my hairbrush in the defensive guard position. I moved in my sleep. What the bleep!?

I’m going to go now before I decide not to post this.
Or before I rupture something from laughing so hard.
Whichever comes first.

So...your body was fighting the Tall Man while you dreamed it?

Er...I think anyone reading this might have reservations about sleeping with you.

Heh.

Do you want to break the news Panfried, or should I?

Let these intelligent people do all the guesswork.

Hmm...Yes I guess I was fighting the Tall Man while I was asleep...it is a first though.
Except for that time that I ... no it's still too early in the evening for this sort of talk. Let's all go back to discussing Lucid dreaming, says I.

Apparently it takes a lot of control to do...

On the topic, I'm apparently a courteous bed-fellow. I've been told I toss and turn a lot, but only in the one spot, and if I move my elbow, I move my whole body over to avoid hitting anyone. Meanwhile, I'm asleep.

Dreams, dreams. Not often do I have one I remember but occasionally I get a really vivid one that I have more than once during the night with slight variations. Last night was one of those vague ones. I was the Tall Man, I think 'cause I was like 7ft above the ground and everyone was running from me.

Quick question: if you can have a lucid dream, do anything, be whatever... why the FUCK would you want to be in DeFoe Manor?

If I ever find myself in a lucid dream, it won't take long for me to be banging that extremely cute British chick from my Freshman year at college. She'll be saying my name, too.

The only POSSIBLE reason you would want to give yourself the heebie-jeebies intentionally is so that when you wake up you can say, "Well, at least there isn't a machete through my liver."

Ok, I'm a bit slow, but...

That seems sensible at first (in my case, for a few weeks), but then, you've played Yahtzee's games, haven't you? Why? Why were you playing a scary game when you could be looking at porn?

You could go anywhere you want on the net, but you come to fullyramblomatic. Sure, Yahtzee might branch off into porn *,but he hasn't yet. What's the difference in coming here when you could go somewhere else, and dreaming about DeFoe, when you could be dreaming about several naked people and a giant tub of yoghurt?

* Fingers crossed biggrin.gif

Last night, I dreamed I was a clone trooper from Battlefront II. It was a really weird experience. dry.gif

And what has Battlefront got to do with Yahtzee's games? Read the topic's title, duh. This thread is for Welder-Tall Man wet dreams only.

Well as long as we're on the topic....

Can't remember half of it but I dreamt I was recruited by the Tall Man to help him go out and kill shit.... I ended up as a clone of him but minus the eternal Chzo-inflicted agony, damn it was cool to run around in his costume.... anyhow, slaughtered some little shit playing soccer on a hill with his friends (he kicked the ball into a tree and broke a branch, and I got a mental order from Cabadath screaming DESTROY HIM), and then there was wiping out some sort of research centre..... I got myself seen by security cameras and the place was surrounded by cops and for whatever reason I wasn't strong enough to get rid of those fuckers, so I called Cabadath for aid and he showed up and wacked me in the head with the Idol - so now I'm looking out through the Welder's mask as I run at inhuman speed through this darkened city, bouncing across rooftops and when I get to my house there's six armed cops waiting.... naturally I introduced them to my machete. Memory blank, and then all of a sudden I'm in some sort of indoor warehouse, standing on a ledge about three stories off the floor. To my right and down a story are two gigantic cages and each one contains a descendant of mine - apparently when I became the second Tall Man I said that neither he nor DeFoe were allowed to harm anyone in my family; so the fucker was going to make me kill one of them to experience the Agony of the Soul or he'd kill me. After a moment or two of agonising over the decision, I pulled out Cabadath's palm tree blade thingy, which was suddenly now a padlock, snapped it shut and threw it over my shoulder and leapt off the ledge. As I fall Cabadath does some midair teleport trick, runs me through and takes my power away, and then I go splat. Legs are broken in like five places each and look disgusting. I grin at the Tall Man, who is standing over me and furious that I not only betrayed him but managed to stop him from hurting my family. Say something about how the Tall Man didn't lose - but then again neither did I. Then I die and the word DRAW appears in front of my eyes like a fucking video game - and with the TIME PARADOX music from MGS3 playing.

At that point I woke myself up and went and drank a shitload of coffee. I'm never listening to Blind Guardian at full volume before going to bed again.
I'm not pessimistic; I've just realised that the light at the end of the tunnel is an incoming train.

Oh, the other day I dreamt that Trilbys had become the national hat or something.

Which'd be bad cause we'd all look like Justin Timberlake.
