Been unable to figure out where most of the music came from. If anyone knows, I'll just track it down, but it doesn't appear to have come from rm2k.
I'm just here to point out your shortcomings and stupidity.

Ach! That's impossible! If they are indeed from HL2, then my brain would probably implode at this possibility.

I seem to recall Yahtzee saying that a friend of his sent him the midi files and that he has no idea where they're from.

Ah. Well, that's unfortunate. I really like the music from these games, and that's the only one which I have been unable to locate. If yahtzee ever decides he gives a flaming midget fuck, maybe they'll be made available.

Er... if I'm not mistaken the tune that played while the welder was chasing you on the last day is the intro bit from Black Celebration by Depeche Mode.

I've listened to Black Celebration at a friend, and the intro bit is identical.

That's all I can indentify, unfortunately.

If you really want them shell out $5 for the SE of 7 Days. They come with.

And I thought I heard that someone sent him the... opening song? and he got the other ones by searching for MIDI files on the internet.

As you're talking about the series' soundtracks, I just thought I'd mention the 6DAS soundtrack is available at:

http://www.screen7.co.uk/music/midi/

Enjoy smile.gif

Oh, and I don't know how easily accessable the 5 Days A Stranger soundtrack is, but I think this is it (not sure about music2.mid!!!)

http://www.screen7.c...5das_music2.mid

(ps, these may be removed if it's a special edition feature. But I don't have the 5DAS SE, so I wouldn't know!!)

Yeah, I haven't heard that music2. I did find your 6days soundtrack the other day, though, VERY excellent work. Thanks man!

Hey guys, the opening theme in 7das is a midi reduction of a piece by Yanni called "One Man's Dream".

Hope that clears that up!

m0ds, the score to 6DAS is brilliant, but I was just disappointed that it was a continuation of the theme from Trilby's Notes. I was playing Notes, and was thinking "Yay, Trilby's got a theme", and then I play this and it's the same thing in a different game and I just ask myself why? biggrin.gif

Oh, and you're right about music2.mid not being in 5days. I was playing it just now. Wasn't it all from RPG Maker 2000? (And if so, it wouldn't be an SE thing).

Yep. Found a midi of that, it's the same thing. Thanks, man.

Adam, perhaps if I had been able to do the music for all the games, there would've been a lot of differences about it. I was offered to remake the music in 5DAS once but I never managed it, and, I didn't really want to! People get set into a mood with the first type of music they hear and changing a score (cos it would've been completely different) probably wouldn't have worked.

For 6DAS, I wanted to keep the same themes. There was no "Trilby" theme. It's the "so many days a something" theme. In the TN SE you'll read my commentary about how the theme tune's melody is saying "5 days a stranger". In the new game you'll hear it's been slightly modified to say "6 days a sac..ri-fice".

There are some discprepencies here though. For example, I didn't realise the Complex tune was going to play before the Phantom Defoe Manor tune. That wasn't meant to be but it was my fault for not playtesting the game during the making of the soundtrack. You're re-introduced to the "Tall Man" theme far quicker than I really wanted. But oh well smile.gif

And, I basically just brought back the same themes again because I know I wanted to hear them again, and some people have said they were glad to hear the same themes again, too. Either way, the series is over now, so you won't hear that melody again!! wink.gif

I remember hearing Sephiroth's Theme or (aka One-Winged God) in the last confrontation in 7DaS
