Personally I'd rather not have any further DeFoe/Chzo related stories. Neither with AJ or Trilby or whatever. That series is completed already and became sursatured with TN and 6DAS. If there must have another horror story following the TN events, then it's time to clean the blackboard and whip up new bad guys, new events and new rules to bring back the feeling of 5DAS, when everything was new, unknown and mysterious.

I totally agree. The game could be ruined completely with any future story related to DeFoe, Chzo or even Trilby. I mean, c'mon people! I know you love Trilby so much but what the hell you want to know about him? The time he sprayed diarrhea all over his mom's face when he was a baby?

Oh, but I'm all for more stories with Trilby. Just no more DeFoe/Chzo stories with Trilby that is. However, I don't want to see Trilby anytime soon. I need a break. The last year's games were all about Trilby. Right now I'd prefer if the next project is as cool, original and new as GFW or 1213 were. But that decision is up to Yahtzee to do.

Heh, I think we ALL got a bit of a Trilby overkill in 6DAS...

I guess the want for more Trilby comes from the hopes of playing Trilby in the 4th game but find out he only makes an appearence in clone form. It was weird seeing him like that.

If the DeFoe mansion was above-ground in 5DAS, why was it deep underground in 6DAS?

QUOTE (arien @ Jan 28 2007, 07:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The same reason that the stump from TN started asbove ground and ended up in the basement.

Huh? What reason is that? The stump was only in the basement. The ruins were miles (or at least a hundred metres) underground. It's not like the mansion was in a valley that got filled up. It was on a level field (or possibly a slight hillock, even).

Also, the Optimology HQ was shownt to be standing on a level plateau. So unless the level of soil mysteriously lifted for the entire county between 5DAS and 6DAS it really doesn't make sense. (Yahtzee?)

Or.. were the ruins.. moved?

They were moved. I remember someone saying something to someone else (could have been Somerset saying it to Trilby clone). He said "its not in the right place is it?" or something like that. Plus you gotta remember Defoe manor backed onto a large cliff face. Which wasnt at the Order headquarters either.

The fire could have...

Hell, I'm not an engineer, but the chances that the cliff eroded for some reason is likely. Remember, at the end of 6DAS, Macolm is standing at the top of a cliff looking down upon the crater. So I'd say the chances are that the cliff gave at some point, sliding the ruins down.

Probably not, as Theo couldn't have survived the fall from ground level then.

That's actually the most logical explanation for the "magically go underground" thing.

I really don't think they moved it. I mean, if the mind of John was still in there, and really, really angry, you probably wouldn't be able to even touch one stone of the ruin without finding yourself in some of his twisted memories. They would've needed a set of Trilbie-Workers to move it, and I don't think they had them already back then.

You remember that in the game, it is written down somewhere that the significant events in the past and in the future caused ripples in time, which collided at the point when 6DAS takes place. Isn't it possible that DeFoe's malevolent influence grew stronger as this collision became imminent?

I mean, till then, it may have indeed been just a bunch of ruins, since they were salvaged in Trilby's Notes and nothing happened...

Uuuh, he was unconscious for a while, because he burnt down. Wouldn't you be, if you burnt down?

Heh, well, guess you're right.

Not nessersarily. Remember why John DeFoe fears Trilby now? Something about being set on fire, unable to die, unable to this that and the other? Suposes some level of consciousness to me.

And I donb't reckon the ruins were moved, both the mansion and teh HQ were in the same county (Bucks), and there aren't many flat areas of green suitable for building stuff like that in unspoiled countryside round there. I mean, without hedges and suchlike.

Its also funny, because there isn't a chance in hell of there being anything cliff-like in Bucks whatsoever!

EDIT: If I remember next time I'm home, must try and Photoshop a cover of the local newspaper to show te manor burning down. As you do.

In 5 days it did sat the mansion was in a ravine and over the walls was sheer drops, prehapse if was a ravine small enough to be covered by a complex.
