About the Welder and the Prince interacting.

I think that Tall Man was somehow possessing John's father as the poor boy was killed with the idol. "Possessing" or whatever. If I recall the TN flashback in question right.

*Clears throat* And before anyone starts asking "Who the hell is this guy?" I'm going to take my leave. You can refer to me as Mr. Mystery because it sounds funky.

Perhaps not as scary, but a lot more thought-provoking. We'll be discussing the symbolism of the XDAS games for a reeeeeally long time, methinks.
Moreover, the puzzles were a lot more challenging in 6DaS, which, in my opinion, is a good thing.

I totally agree with David-kyo and with BLueskirt. The XDAYS games are the best in my opinion. I'm gonna stay over a month just trying to figure out the plot =]

I finished it several hours ago, and I couldn't stop thinking about it all afternoon. It doesn't help your driving ability when you're not thinking about the road, I'll tell you that. (I was pleased with myself, though, that I was able to finish it without looking at a walkthrough or asking for any hints at all. Though, I guess the puzzles were a little easier than the other games.)

I thought it was nice to see who the man in red really was. I'd been trying to figure it out ever since I got the SE of Trilby's Notes, but all my ideas didn't seem to fit. I'm a big idiot for not thinking Malcom, huh? Also, 'Redrobey McSomerset' is totally hilarious and I'm calling him that forever.

I'll agree with the people who said it wasn't as scary. I think this was partially because you couldn't really die. The Trilby guard catches you and locks you up? Redrobey McSomerset save you with.... magic or something. Possessed Janine is about to kill you? You wake up in your bed like nothing happened. Maybe you were able to die in the house with your Trilby Army, but I always had someone with me so I'm not sure. (About the Trilby Army. Did anyone else see them walking around like they were confused all the time? They never quite followed me. I had one try to go back towards the door we had just entered, then he turned around and got caught on the table.)

The music was great. It was so cool to hear the themes from TN again.

The end still confuses me some. I got that Chzo was trying to replace Cabadath as the Prince... but why does he need a prince if he's not going to try to take over the world? Or does he want an avatar to terrorize the people in the Realm of Magic?

Another thing. What happened to the real, original Trilby? As it seems, (like you people have pointed out,) that the old Trilby was actually the last clone, so I'm guessing that wasn't him. Now presumably, he's dead, (It'd be an impressive power to not die after 200 years,) but I'm curious as to what else happened? Did the Tall Man come and kill him? Did he have a heart attack when a kid came to his house trick or treating in a welding mask?

Also, was I the only one who laughed when the Trilby clone was explaing how to change a fuse? I kept imagining him saying it mockingly, kinda like he was saying "Sure, I don't have any memory, but you don't know how to change a fuse?" I also laughed when I saw Lenkmann's corpse, though, so maybe I just think weird things are funny.

Lastly. Maybe I'm just selfish, but I was very glad when Yahtzee didn't release Trilby's real name. It probably would've fit in quite well though. I'm not sure why he didn't do it though. Perhaps he wants to keep people buying the SEs.

downloaded and finished in one smooth session (found it a easier than TN)

my theory for the new prince is that the tall man assumed his role as prince would involve bring Chzo to our dimension, but Chzo on the other hand, had no interest in this (due to lack of magick, etc), and while DeFoe's power grew, Chzo set the wheels in motion to bring him to his world (possibly due to him being more 'pure', suffering much more than the prince had in his life), using Theo as a body, and the others to purify him, so he and DeFoe could join together through the machete, mask and apron, and then through the complete destruction of the house, destroy DeFoe's mind body and soul, but it would remain within Theo

maybe Defoe was meant to be the 'true' prince all along, and the tall man was simply a means of obtaining him.

as for Trilby? we don't really know what happened to the original, and given Chzo's perception of time, the one at the end of the game could well have been him (somehow).

anyway, looking forward to the special edition (should there be one)

PS - Apologies about saying it was RPG Maker music this time round, but it got you thinking, huh? wink.gif

It was great though, (and got me an opening to be a prick) so all should be forgiven and maybe even thanked for. Mostly thanked for.

My arse this game ties up all the loose ends. If anything, with that bloody New Prince, it creates more questions. What happened to Jim? (Was my prediction of his horrible death à la Simone wrong? Why do we still not know who the hell AJ is?

I'd look for the original Trilby through personality. As soon as the clone Trilbys started talking, you could instantly tell it's not the real one. He's much more irreverent and sarcastic. And logic would say that none of the clones are the original Trilby, but the remark about blanking by the 'last' Trilby is characteristic and does make me suspicious, however.

Yeah, although I've finished all four games and enjoyed them, 5 Days a Stranger is the only game in the series that I felt was "complete" in and of itself. I don't know if I'm just dense or what, but I found this game even more confusing than the last one. Plus it was hardly scary considering you couldn't die, nor did you care for the crippled man you were playing. Good game, don't get me wrong. I just didn't get the same vibe I got from the first.

More challenging? Although I'm embarassed to admit it, this may be the only Yahtzee game (except for the original Rob Blanc) that I was able to finish without any help. The lack of scares did help me think more clearly, to be honest.

If you read the note found on the computer in the lab room, it implies that Trilby died of old age, but the Prince was able to take a blood sample from him before that.

I've heard of raising clones for the extra organs, but raising clones to give you their life energy? Wow.

Hello all this is my first post and I LOVED this game. And technically I think when this ist he final game it's the final of the JOHN DEFOE series...meaning that it followed what happened with JD and this title did give closure to him becoming (in some ways at the very least) the "New Prince)

Now maybe I've thought too much about it already but I think the Tall Man had been doing Chzo's bidding and had no idea what it had in mind UNTIL Theo showed up and then it realized this whole thing, this whole time, was NOT to bring Chzo into this world but to replace him {the Tall Man} and THEN he started killing the Trilby's.

Either that or Chzo wanted to make Defoe's influence stronger so that he would infect Janine, causing her to make Theo worried (and cementing it by having the Tall Man kill her) AS WELL as making Theo go nuts with Defoe causing the lower levels to go through the transformation. Also killing the Trilby's in front of Theo would drive him crazy too. All this time the Tall Man had no idea what was going on UNTIL the last moment, because after the New Prince is born you see him look at Chzo and point at his replacement in a "WHAT IS THIS" manner.

As for WHY Chzo wanted a replacement, as some have pointed out; The Prince was born out of a being wanting to use Chzo for, when you really think about it, a selfless purpose and was tortured and given his great pain by Chzo. John DeFoe however was given his pain his whole life, he's known nothing BUT pain; making him the perfect canidate for a Prince.

Those are my toughts

I think it may have been the corpse in the Medical Supplies room. The one where the black disturbance(Tall Man) is. I personally didn't think it was Lenhkman, but I couldn't figure out who it was anyways... By the way, remember the first dream... Was the little boy John? I wasn't too sure.

It was the one in the supply room. Rememer, you lure the Trilby clone in, and the tall man appears and kills him? If you look at the corpse, it says something like "It was wearing the remains of an anorak, and had a large hole in the back of its head." Anyway, I got a big kick out of that, mostly because I never liked Lenkmann.

My friend just pointed out something to me.

That fake religion? Is it a play on Scientology? It sounds like it o_o

Anyways, great game, though I'd have to say it's not the best in the series.

Yes, it is him, although younger. Play Trilby's Notes, and pay attention to the first flashback, the one with Matthew Defoe. The kid looks exactly like John. But i don't know about his eyes. Maybe a mention to when he rips William eyes in the future?
