Like so many other 20-somethings, my first game was Super Mario Brothers, because it came with the NES my dad got for us for Christmas one year. I hated Duck Hunt at the time, so I refused to play it until I was about 14 or 15.

That's what it's called Duck Hunt!!!!

It was a rather liked that
challenging game.

That was beginning of my love

You waited that long? Dont get me wrong, that laughing dog is damn annoying, not to mention when the ducks fly in one direction, then suddenly make a sharp 45 degree turn and fly in another,.and we wont even talk about those clay discs!!

But your whole perspective of the game being annoying is totally reversed when you are holding the light gun (nes zapper) less then 12 inches from your TV screen all the while downing a Miller Lite.

The Great Giana Sisters. We used to have that on our old Amiga. Can't remember how far I got, though.

Thats a very interesting article on The Great Giana Sisters. Nintendo has a known legal rep for taking on everyone from Blockbuster Video to Atari's Tengen. Everyone who isnt aware if The Great Giana Sisters should read that article.

The reference to light beer was of course implying a nostalgic one, assuming you are playing the game in modern times for old time's sake. Also considering that most of the posters here are of legal drinking age as well. No, I am not advocating underage drinking to minors. Most modern minors have scant knowledge of "Duck Hunt" anyways in comparison to other titles that they are more acclimated to. Sorry for the confusion.

No problem referencing beer, but light beer is a travesty to mankind. Midstrength can be acceptable in some situations (eg. It's free), but it's still frowned upon. If it's not full strength, it's just terrible cool drink (note to Americans, cool drink is what Australian's call soda or soda pop. I hate the word soda.)

Its interesting to see what different people label carbonated beverages. The word you hate, "soda", seems to be the term of choice for the eastern half of the U.S., while the western U.S. refers to it as either "pop", or "soft drinks". I hate calling them soft drinks, there is nothing soft about liquid. I mean, it is a liquid,... its mass,...and its molecular structure doesnt constitute it being called soft,...its a liquid for crying out loud! Yes, the same principle goes especially for calling hard drinks "hard". However, down south, folks call any carbonated beverage "Coke", whether it is Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, etc.

People say that we southerners refer to everything as Coke, but really, I haven't seen that. Most people call it soda, or by its name.
I don't understand the "soft drink" thing either, but I really don't understand "cool drink." Unless you're assuming that soda just stays cold on its own, or that all other drinks are served warm, or maybe drinking soda just makes one a little more awexome than us anti-soda people? sad.gif

Traditionally, a hard drink is some sort of alcoholic beverage, and a soft drink is a non-alcoholic alternative, such as soda/fountain drinks.
