Whether "global climate change" real or not, (and many non-wacky/zealous scientists agree that it is) it's still not an excuse to treat the environment like shit and be unconcerned about emitting pollutants.

I do agree that some environmentalists are rather cultish these days, and it's very worrisome. pinch.gif

Aren't cows' belches responsible for more methane gas than automobiles? But nobody wants to give up their steak.

But we can all agree that the USA is responsible for the world's ills. I find it comforting that at least everyone can agree on something. smile.gif

I'm sorry, that offered zero righteousness.

Hey! it talks about the cows!

But we're still responsible for 75% of the greenhouse gasses (for now).

I'm not used to Catholics making sense, but the Pope himself recently popped his head out of his Harry Potter hating arse and decided to show off some insight. He mentioned that we're killing the planet and acknowledged global warming, and then went on to say that he accepts evolution because he doesnt feel that the theory of evolution disproves the idea that god made us.

Then on the same day some evangelists opened a creationism museum in Kentucky. Creationism.... Museum

Hey, I like Harry Potter, and I'm a Catholic. I suppose it means I get sent to the lake of fire in the End Times, but so what? Magic isn't real, so scr*w the Pope (even if it does mean eternal damnation wink.gif)!

I'd like to say "It's about fucking time." in response to events of recent months, such as an international, non-partisan team of scientists analyzing over a century of collected data and doing experiments and such and finally firmly stating that humanity is indeed contributing to global warming. It was never a political issue that people concerned about the environment made up (except for the really crazy ideological zealots who are more concerned about getting their way through fear tactics and sensationalization). We actually just plain care. It's nice to see the mass media and the sheeple finally coming around. Now we can do nothing and pass doublespeak laws that say "environment" in them but actually support big business and relaxing polution laws, and of course as usual, opponents who call that out will be denounced for not supporting the environment and being non-compromising. So yeah. The only thing different is that people are saying "OH NOES, IT'S REAL!" But I feel vindicated because people are finally getting it through their heads. You need to embrace every minute victory these days.

I offer you this. Be sure to also read the alt tag on the image.

Bond: INTARWEBS. They have all.

TheOrator: It does, a bit, if we chop off Maine, Florida, and Texas, and deal only with the Continental US. Which is to say it looks like a rectangle with a little bit of a curve on each side...

Sure it does.

And there is a Texas and a Florida, if you look closely, which is why I thought it interesting.

And California!
