In today's update, Yahtzee said the following: 'Between it and World of Warcraft this has probably been the least productive period of my life...'

Heh, so not even your mind was able to resist this drug, then.
Does that sentence mean you're playing WoW nowadays, or you used to not too long ago?

My editor hooked me up with a copy and two free months (Vivendi are trying to sucker in what few journalists remain unsuckered) so I guess I have to make the most of it until I run out. Don't think for a moment I'd ever subscribe, though. I mean, Blizzard make 50 million dollars a month from WoW, I don't even know how I'd spend that much. Not paying them money seems like doing them a favour.

I'm hanging around an Oceania server as an undead mage. I've also learned how to sew linen bags. It's more fun than it sounds.
As I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, I realised that it could do with a lick of paint.

For the Horde!

Okay, I'm guessing that you have chosen the name Yahtzee for your character, I'll see if any of my friends with level sixties hang around there, if so, I'll tell them to twink your character a bit so that you'll have to do a bit less monster-farming and have more fun.

By the way, being the cheapskate I am, I'm not subscribing either, I'm (ab)using the account of a friend of mine, I encourage you to do the same (EDIT: if you decide that you've grown to like the game), it's clearly not worth that fucking much.

Especially not in a financially fucked-up country like Hungary, where you have to toil four times more to earn ten times less than anyplace else.

You're totally wrong.

Thanks, but I haven't even told you the name of the server yet and I don't socialise with other players anyway since most of them act like excitable puppies in a playgroup class. If I'm on a quest I party with dudes I find there for long enough to get the booty, then disappear back into the shadows.

All right, good questing then, and make sure that you too visit Warsong Gulch regularly, the most fun part of the game. smile.gif

I miss WoW so much.

I played from Beta 2 through to release, then never bought the game. Once beta was closed I finally had a chance to sleep for more than a few hours at a time, and eat food! Real food fills you up so much better than that stuff mages conjour up in instance quests.

Arrrgghhh the pangs of addiction rack my innards whenever I hear of that game again...!

Arrrgghhh...!

Arrrgghhh...!

Okay, good idea, maybe I should lay off the narcotic a bit, or that's how I'll eventually end up, too...

Ah, online game stealing, that takes me back... stand back let my party kill everything, just stand there looking like I'm doing something, run in and take the prize and then off.

Just like how some people are when you do a camping with your mates. When they suspect WORK coming up soon with their refined senses, they just disappear, reappear in the pub a bit farther away, sip at their beers, and when the tent's almost standing and everything's finished, they come back, and enthusiastically ask, 'Need any help with anything?'

But I don't think Yahtzee was referring to ninjaing the loot, but to disappearing before the usual self-backslapping 'Aren't we the coolest team, we could kick anyone's arse'-type shit that usually comes after completing a quest and what gets on anyone's nerves after a while.

Okay, I've just got done being gangraped by enemies while attempting one of the many quests that are allegedly suitable for my skill level and which all end with me being gangraped, and I think I'm going to stop playing this game now. I try to group with people but they are all jerks without exception. It is a rare game that just makes me too fucking sick of it to continue, I even finished Area 51, but I am dropping this one like a hot coal. Fuck it and fuck Blizzard.

On Horde side??? That IS new. This used to be a common problem on Alliance side, but seems as though it is leaking, shit, we're being invaded by twelve-year-olds!
That is why I found it a good idea to act sociable as a start, get on good terms with some people who are not dumbfuck sociopath kids for a change, and THEN shut yourself away from the outside world. That way, the only ones you need to tell to fuck off are the beggars who frequent the capital cities in the game, and it's a good knowledge that the people on your friends list can be trusted.

By the way, don't you all just love this phenomenon, when the little smacktards realize that they can't be punched in the face by people from across the monitor, their mouths grow tenfold and they start to acting like shitheads (their true personality, by the way) and try to pretend they're adults?

Nice. You could rate it 18+ and make an entrance exam for maturity like that of the AGS forums. Anyone who answers a question wrong (i.e. proves that they're not come of age), should get kicked off and banned, and their internet access revoked, they're spending too much time in front of the monitor anyway. laugh.gif
