I saw him in concert six or seven years ago. After a grueling 2 hour set, and several encores; he comes back out on stage, picks up a backup singer, and carries her off in his arms. Might have been his wife, he did later marry a backup singer.

I just found out. I have several JB songs on some chosen Christmas collections, and they all rock for the cradle in their own powerful way. Why just last night I was extolling JB's particular addition to the season.

As Jesse Jackson pointed out (hey, I read it in a write-up), James Brown was dramatic to the end- dying on Christmas day.

It's sad because he's just another soul lost from a past generationt that's slowly passing away. But his music sucked and it inspired even worse artists.

To each his own, their point is understandable.

You know, I probably won't see you this Christmas, but if I do, I want to say Merry Christmas to you, and to you, and especially to you. I want to say Merry Christmas to all the people who can't find themself. Let's try to get together and live in peace. To love one another, and treat each and every man like he's your brother. With a little love. And kindness.
