This really doens't have anything to do with... well... anything but I didn't know where else to say it.

I've noticed modern (term loosley used) christmas songs involve approximately one and a chorus. The songs usually begin with the chorus sung without music or with quiet, percussionless music. Then this chorus is repeated, but with louder, percussion-crammed music. Then a verse which is very similar to the chorus, but is worded differently, then the chorus repeatedly for the next 2 minutes of the song. Anyone else notice this? This came to mind at work where they only play christmas songs over the PA. blink.gif

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I can't stand Christmas music. It is the most annoying music I have ever heard. I can tolerate old singers like Nat King Cole, but his daughter Natalie needs to turn it down or turn it off. She can't sing.

I hated going to work and hearing from the end of November all the way past Christmas day, the same old tired songs, everyday, same time on, same time off. I even went so far as to kicking the radio in if they played Kenny G. anymore, and I ripped out the cables that attached the speakers.

I was always looked at as the fuming pinnacle of seething hatred around the Christmas season. Co-workers always thought that I was anti-Christian, ...no, I am very much Christian, just not a religious fool that has to blast his music over others.

I worked better in silence. When there was unwelcomed noise, I made violence. That ended the problem.

Yes, I'm quite a fan of silence.

I have a friend who makes alternative Christmas collections. And then there's Vince Guaraldi and Ramsey Lewis, a tradition here since 1993.

It exists. Sometimes it surfaces. Cherish what you can, avoid the rest.

I actually love Christmas and all those Christmas songs. There, I said it. I'm not even Christian (Lord no!), but I love it. So stone me.

Well, I'm kind of not paying much attention to the new stuff anyways, I stick to the good ol' ones. My flatmates hate me for playing Wham!'s Last Christmas up and down like crazy, but hey, what can I say...

... deal with it. cool.gif

Christmas, like Christianity itself, isn't original.

I am not intending to be a religious fool. Just wanted to see how well I can play the tunes I hear. Then I'd be blasting their tunes around so in that case I better stop playing them if they are that annoying.

After a constant exposure on the street to any same tune yes I would feel bored.

"Good King Wenceslas" is a brilliant song, and not just because its the only carol I can actually sing.

And surely Christmas is just about getting pissed with friends/family?
