Yes, it's begun. I know you were all pissing yourselves with anticipation and all. rolleyes.gif
Anywho, I started things off with the "worst of '06" albums list. Go check it out. And keep an eye on the site for further updates.

Music is weak today. The industry is hurting from 1 part piracy, 1 part shit albums.

I hear a lot of music and get excited, but the initial thrill wears off fast. Stadium Arcadium is a great example. You're review on it is spot on, but at first I did like 6 songs. But as the weeks went by, I found myself forgetting the album ever existed.

You know something is wrong with music today when Joy division and the Smiths are on constant rotation at your place.

YOu should also to a critique on the Indie Rock scene. This was something I was really excited about but there has yet ot be a big break through band with that one album that just over shadows the rest.

Alan Cross is my favorite Radio personality. He does segements on rock music and plays good stuff, often things you can't buy or find.

Go to page 7 and listen to the bottom show "What's wrong with the music Industry?"

He sums up how I feel. IF you work at an office and enjoy rock, this guy is ideal for that enviroment.

Hec, I must say, I don't disagree with a single of those albums on your list. Rock on. There is literally no good music anymore, its all sub-standard. I think just about every song on my Zen is pre-mid-90's, either that of its simply by an old school band.

I actually liked a few songs from Stadium Arcadium, but all in all it was still utterly repetitive. I mostly hear it with the volume turned down, somewhere in the background, it helps to put you to sleep.

Only two albums have actually struck me as being any good this year. One was a drum'n'bass album from last year (Pendulums "Hold Your Colour", for those who care). The other was Selected Ambient Works, and that was ages ago, and I still haven't thanked the Big H for pointing me at it.

Thank you Big H, Selected Ambient Works is a bloody good album!

You're welcome.

Part one of my 50 best albums of 2006 is up now. Part two should be up later today, or tomorrow sometime.

Believe it or not, I was actually looking forward to this. God knows I need new music.

By the way, have you checked out My Brother's Blood Machine, Claudio Sanchez's side project, Hecc?

The Prize Fighter Inferno is okay. Nothing that great.
The rest of the list should be coming this week. Things have gotten kind of hectic with the holiday celebrations, so I haven't had time to finish.

EDIT:
Scratch that, part 3 is up. The top 20 will be coming in the early part of the week.

I like it, though it didn't flow well. Did you find a torrent somewhere? I couldn't find one anywhere. Oink?

Yeah, I got it off of OiNK. Generally speaking, if you want an album, it's on there. biggrin.gif

Anywho, part 4 is up. I should have the top 10 posted tomorrow or Thursday, as I have only one little mini-review left to write.

So far, I notice a good sign: I have only even heard of one of the artists out of your top 50 so far. Mind you, I could probably barely name 50 albums of all time, and I have all nineteen of Bob Marley's albums.

Hecc, do you still happen to have that wonderful list of albums that you own? The one with like 2000 albums or so?
