If you can't stand critique, then get the thing off, or if it's only our opinion of it that burns holes in your fragile little soul (because apparently everyone else is sucking up to you), then don't frequent these forums, remain in blissful ignorance of its direness.

I don't mind critique, this just seemed like non sequitur critique. If you can't stand critique of when you criticize, don't do it.

And as for the hypocrisy thing, that article is gone now, and I voted delete myself on the nomination. There's no hypocrisy involved -- the article was created in April 2004, before corporate notability guidelines were created.

Wow, your skills of wit never cease to amaze, Andy.

Your sense of humor also never ceases to amaze. Did you read Yahtzee's post?

QUOTE (Nostaw @ Jan 6 2007, 01:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
For what I've understood of what you have said, you plead innocence for being an officer of Wikipedia, accomplishing orders.

Let's see:
Well, I assume you did not begin this whole mess. The problem is that everyone here think it was you. Anyway, I think we all would love if you give us the list of name users/IPs who nominated Yahtzee's pages for deletion and how much they asked for it.

There is no reason for us to be enemies, Mr. Andervan*. I'm pretty sure that a webmaster like you would find it useful to have people (a lot of people) with internet acess on your side. And I think Yahtzee would also find it useful to have an Wikipedia admin on his side.

The Wikipedia Nuremberg defense? No, I really don't think you understand at all. I did nominate a bunch of Yahtzee's pages for deletion, under the principle of notability, which I maintain that they fail. The "follow orders" thing is that I cannot delete them unless there's a consensus to do so. In the case of the Ben Croshaw article, there was no consensus, and thus the article has not been deleted.

Andrevan - You're basically right, you just come across as a bit stuck up.

Everyone else - Stop trying to be funny. Please. Yahtzee won't sleep with you, no matter how hard you try. And Nostaw, I really hope you were drunk, or your post is a weird joke.

*sigh* Ok, I guess that was a correct step then, I take back my arguments there.

Yeah, I agree with Girdag. Andrevan, The fact you don't know anything about Yahtzee or his works apparently does not void your right to judge how "notable" they are on Wikipedia, but it does everywhere else. Hence why you're being put on a pedestal to be mocked as a wanker. A sensible person would at least have looked around the site a bit.

Case in point: Some admin recently deleted this article. As soon as I pointed out to him the myriad number of references in the media it had been given, available to view on the website, he put it back up immediately.

That guy was a mongbotty. For acting in the same manner, so are you.

But I haven't deleted any pages, I merely put their deletion up for discussion. You acted rightly in telling that admin about his erroneous speedy deletion. However, I was not wrong in nominating those articles for deletion.

Andre, in all seriousness, if Yahtzee's games weren't notable, why has there been such an uproar that you've felt the need to register an account with a forum dedicated to said supposedly un-notable works?

Surely if they were indeed un-notable, then this debate would never have taken place?

Considering some of us went as far as insulting this guy and all his work (which quite frankly is as dumb as building an argumentation on how much the Matrix Reloaded/Revolution sucks based on the amount of physics errors contained in the movies), and all this for mere wikipedia entries, which, until Andre put on deletion trial, contained awesome informations such as:

Croshaw really likes the actor Bruce Campbell.

Croshaw sells merchandise that endorses eating lions.

(I mean, "Croshaw really love jam and peanut butter sandwiches", "Croshaw's skills in bed depend weither or not he has a wikipedia entry" wow, awesome. dry.gif ), I'm having some doubt weither or not this debate would never have taken place. tongue.gif wink.gif

I have some doubt as to if this debate as infact taken place, or if we just imagined it.

Andrevan... You googled your own name to find this thread didn't you?. C'mon, admit it, we've all done it before. There's no shame in it. *sniggers*

If you don't want to read a long-winded almost pointless post, skip to the bold text.

To make a point, Andrew was doing his jobs as a Wiki Admin, and all you fanboys got "teh shitz" because you were the Scottish. That analagy would make sense to think of it this way. Scotland defended it's country from the English invaders with honour, valour and timeless heroism, just to be butt-fucked by the Brittish in the end.

How this applies?

The fanboys are the scottish, who are fighting a dramatic battle against the Wikipedia oppression, and have stemmed the deletion of their god and saviour, Ben Croshaw's, devotions from the public domain. In the end, Andrew is right. No matter how much we truly love Yahtzee with as much fervor as the Nazi's loved Hitler, it is only us select few who enjoy his writings enough to write a Wiki article and read said article. Also, Yahtzee has not made the big time, so he is not notable enough to waste Wiki server space which can be better used on adult film stars.

Okay, I worked hard on that... I needed to stretch my brain a little. Getting back into the writing game, you see.

My point: Quit being a bunch of whiny fucks you pansy ass fanboys. Yahtzee will have a Wikipedia article when he is more famous. It will be most likeley more deserving, and a more satisfying article then. And lat off Andrew. he's doing his part for the Wiki which som many of us take for granted

I feel good now...
