diCaprio: a vivid portrayal of an american hero?

The more likely image is that of an old man with long hair and fingernails, wearing Kleenex boxes for shoes, sitting in a sterilized environment atop a Las Vegas hotel and watching Ice Station Zebra over and over and saving his urine in jars.

I guess they left this part out.

Hughs not only labeled and dated his collection of his own urine, he saved kleenexes with old snot and all his fingernail clippings and hair.

Why? Fuck if I know, but the guy was a creepy screwhead, not the latest teen idol.

Hannibal- The film shows Howard Hughes before he gave into his OCD. In his youth Hughes was a champion for aviation, risked his life flying planes, went out with Katherine Hepburn (WOOT!) and was just generally an interesting and idealic person.

Haha the spruce goose, I remember constantly seeing that thing referenced, I think there was even an episode of the Simpsons based off the exploits of old Howard Hughes.

Was it Howard Hughes or William Randolph Hearst who killed some guy and then supported the Nazis during WW2. No that was Hearst, I remember cuz he lived in a huge ass castle.

The Great Urine Collector: FACT

http://en.wikipedia....i/Howard_Hughes
As time passed, Hughes developed debilitating symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). He became a recluse, living a drug-addled life locked in darkened rooms and terrified of germs. He moved from hotel to hotel, from the Beverly Hills Hotel to Boston to Las Vegas, where he bought the Desert Inn (because they threatened to evict him) and several other hotel/casinos (Castaways, New Frontier, Landmark, Sands and Silver Slipper). He was known for modernizing Las Vegas by buying it from the Mafia. He bought television stations such as KLAS-TV in Las Vegas so that there would be something to watch when he was up all night with insomnia. He became addicted to codeine and other painkillers, was extremely frail, wore Kleenex boxes as shoes, and stored his urine in jars. As he deteriorated, he moved to the Bahamas, Vancouver, London, and several other places, always living in the top floor penthouse with the windows blacked out. Every time he moved out, the hotel seemed to need to remodel to clean up after him. Hughes died of renal failure on an airplane en route from his penthouse in Mexico to the Methodist Hospital in Houston on 5 April 1976 at the age of 70. Much of his strange behavior at the end of his life has been attributed to tertiary stage syphilis by modern biographers.

"Anyone who has the power to make you believe absurdities also has the power to make you commit atrocities."
~ Voltaire (1694-1778)

All I can honestly think to say, looking at all those pictures is:

"What...the...HELL?! Why, oh why, am I sitting here staring at pictures of people's urine? Better question: why the hell have pictures of people's urine been posted everywhere?"

Also, wow. That is a sad, sad sight to behold. And that guy in the back looks like an ass-hole. Just look at him, he's smirking about it.

I'd be peeing myself in fear, because I'd have obviously run into Chronos and he's gone quite mad. That boy has balls made of titanium. Strong AND lightweight.

Yow. Somebody's a little bit obsessed with bodily fluids. And I don't mean Howard Hughes! :-D

I love tabloid pictures. Brilliant outlet for absurdist humor. There was one I saw when in Washington DC, I had to take a picture of the cover. It read "My steamy nights with Hillary in UFO love nest: Space alien tells all in new book!" Some time I'm going to find that image and post it. Makes me burst into laughter just remembering it.
