also, done in Sepia tone, because real life was done in sepia in the 1800's.

It's details like this that separate the good from the bad artists. Take this brilliant example to heart, children. Take it to heart.

I wanted the title screen for Art of Theft as a desktop background because it's freaking awesome. Although sufficiently badass, the 320x240 resoluted picture simply wasn't clean or wide enough for my desktop, so I traced the thing with vector shapes in Photoshop and cheaply used a filter as a background. I was going to trace the title itself as well, but in the end I couldn't be arsed and I thought it looked better with a tiny logo anyway.

Should you despite my complete lack of artistic talent like it enough to want it as a desktop of your own, I made a point of vector-basing the image so I can neatly scale it however the heck I want to. Just put a reply or PM me and I can render it for you desktop.

I'd make a remark about how this is my first post although I've been reading FR for two years or so but that's usually frowned upon, isn't it?

It's already my desktop, fits my screen nicely as it is.

That's pretty cool. I think I'll use it as soon as I can figure out how to fix the aspect ratio in Linux.

Like I said, I can easily render it in any format and resolutions you'd like me to. Just let me know which one.

My screen should have a ratio of 1280 by 800 pixels, but Linux doesn't know that and it tries to fit my screen with whatever the standard ratio is for monitors, so everything comes out ugly and bloated. If you could make one that size I'd appreciate it.

Alright. I've rendered it to three more size for people to use. I'll just put links to them for cavedwellers with 56k modems.

Here's the 1280x800 one.

Also, I whipped up A 1280x960 one for dudes with 4:3 monitors.

And here's a 1280x768 one that I think someone somewhere uses.

Crap, I just realized I forgot one for laptop monitors. Next time, I suppose.

Someone needs to do some proper AoT art. I'd love to see it.

I made this using the Pyro II version of the Falling Sand Game.

Yeah, it's basic, but I couldn't stop myself when I discovered the Sand game.
Smashed up my sanity.
Smashed up my integrity.
Smashed up what I believed in,
Smashed up what's left of me.
Smashed up my everything,
Smashed up all I thought was true,
'gonna smash myself to pieces,
I don't know what else to do.

Joey Moey Fee Fi Fo Foey.... Joey!

Wow. You actually made something with that game? I always just blow stuff up. You must be skilled at sand manipulation.

By the way, not to criticize your sand skills, because just being able to make something with it is amazing enough, but who's that little dude in the corner?
We're whalers on the moon
We carry a harpoon
But there ain't no whales so we tell tall tales
And sing a whaling tune

'sposed to be the Tall Man (viewed from behind), but I didn't quite get it right. Still, wasn't that I was really concentrating on.
*shrugs*
Not bad for a first attempt at using the Sand to make something.
I just normally piss around with the water one xD

Aaand this is the reason no-one gets around to making anything with the sand game.

Nice little forest landscape (complete with factory thing in corner)

10 seconds later....

THIS IS WHY I should not be allowed to draw things in photoshop.

I attempt to render something with a nicer quality, aaaand it just looks half-arsed.

;_;

There anyone here who can actually -teach- me anything on photoshop?
