Any other reason for that than general hatred for anime?

I always thought the one of Trilby with the bear was hilarious. Dunno why...

That new one though... meh. I mean, she gave Trilby purple hair. Frehorn's blade looks cool though

The problem I have with Manga/anime isnt so much with itself but rather with the western fans who worship it as the ultimate expression and create such aberrations as a badly drawn manga hellboy.
The worst thing is that roughly three quarts of this people take their cues from "How to draw: manga" books and this is easily identifiable.
Look,it is a style,I like it a little bit and even know how to do it,but let s face it,when you learn to draw human proportions very often you end up with a manga type of character (disproportioned head and /or eyes, elongated body.etc) so it s not that hard nor virtous to make either
(now when you pull some crazy really well done stuff like for example this thread trilby drawing I take out my hat like everyone else)...

And what sounds really ridicolous but it is sadly true is that this manganabes have overpopulated the market to the point where a single sheet of a japanese styled drawing in your portfolio has a great chance of having you be considered "Not serious" and subsequently turned down...

It just turns me off because people seem to be doing manga versions of everything these days, and its things like the XDAS series that i can take solace in and go 'you'll never defect to the other side'.

I like comics, and I die a litte every time i walk into a shop and see 'one shelf for regular comics, seven for all the manga'.

I've got nothing against it be I feel its trying to sufforcate me.

CRAP ART!

6DaS

You'd have to read Cris and Trilby to get it.

Seems that the Trilby clones have picked up on one of Trilby's old habits. And I wondered how DaCabe got them to keep on in.

Very nicely done.

You made my day.

That second one is even funnier since I just re-read Chris & Trilby a few days ago. Oh wow.
