The rework looks pretty amazing. Yahtzee himself has always characterized Trilby with a slightly less square jaw, I would say. A longer face... IMHO, of course.

But that looks pretty awesome. Well done--I wouldn't rework it anymore personally.

And the original: If he were using a stocking instead of an actual ski-mask, then the first would look a lot like it. Some crooks do that:

It's surprisingly hard to find a picture of that actually. I was thinking ala American History: X. Perhaps fewer crooks do that then I originally thought.

Version two is done: I added some folds and included an eye hole, so it defiantely looks more mask like now. Hopefully there's aren't many more revisions, as the papers is starting to fray as a result of all the erasing (The lower part of his face on the left side of the image for instance)

...where the hell is my hat?...

Anyways, enjoy, and tell me what you think.

Make sure it's not on the bed. Putting your hat on your bed is summoning bad luck.

I like the expression on his face, he looks kinda like someone just said something very odd. I'd say more winkles around the nose and mouth area (it's supposed to hang from the end of the nose a bit and that'd cause distortion in that area.

I agree with Uszi about the face shape though: you gave him almost a round face and a very strong jawline. I imagine the cheeks a bit more sunken, with one of those Sherlock Holmesian long faces. His greatest weapon is his wits, not his fists, so he shouldn't look like a brawler.

And the tie is still wobbly. But overall this is a big improvement. You've got talent, Van Integral!

I've made a rather shitty 3d model of Cabadath, took me a few days. It's not really good, for instance the hands look like they were found in a pile of excrements or something, but I'll post some renders anyway.

(The background is only black in the thumbnails.)

Oh, and also, hi everybody!

I really like the one which looks like a Victorian portrait of Trilby. Artistic and full of win.

For some reason, the tall man is one of my favorite characters due to his Dracula-ish looks. I mean, he sure looks like a British Dracula with a bag on his head. I like that sort of look.
His staff is cool too, but I'm not sure how does that inflict damage or how you use it.

Personally, I like those 3D versions. They shiny background pretty much distracts you from the fact that his hands are done badly (which I actually didn't notice anything bad. Are you like, critisizing yourself? -- Alright, now I noticed).

Thanks for liking it!

If I spend some more time on it I can probably fix those hands and skin it properly so I can animate it (currently I just slapped up a bone system as fast as I could), but I can't be arsed right now. Maybe tomorrow.

What skin? I don't think he has any left. Are you referring to his gloves?

By skinning, nehacoo means adding texture to the model so that the cloth will look like cloth, the metal like metal, so on and so forth.

Actually, that's not what I meant either. (But that needs to be done to. He's pretty much just solid color with a noise over it now.) What I meant was the model to the bone system, it is pretty hard to do properly because the vertices have a tendency to assign themselves to the wrong bones (I guess next time I should assign all vertices manually.) I pretty much suck at skinning, and try to get it over with as fast as possible, which results in making it impossible to animate. (Right now the cloth thing over his shoulders isn't assigned to his arms, for example.)
Anyway, it seems I've caught a nasty cold and I feel sick so I should probably not be sitting at my computer right now.

Here is a co-opt sketch my husband and I passed back and forth yesterday. I'm posting it here to get some feedback before we move into not-as-easy-to-fix digital inking and coloring. This is mostly because I haven't been able to find any "official" Chris art other than the comic, so I'm not sure if we totally screwed him up.

So, this takes place after the "raisin toast" incident in C&T...

Chris: Maybe we should have used pies instead?
Trilby: Just shut up and run!

There is an angry mob in close pursuit, (thus the pitchfork) but they've been cut out because I don't want to ruin some of the humor (humour?) of the final piece.

This is just a sketch and the finals will be heavily cleaned up. When we get Sai Painter back in our grubby little hands, it should be close to the quality of some of Neil's other work...

Fire away and thanks in advance.

I think it's cute. Some anatomy issues with Chris (I don't think his head could really turn like that) and Trilby's torso, but it's still cute.

I think you nailed Chris actually, the best artwork I've seen of him was in this guest strip.

That is one badass baby.

DreamerM: Yeah, the more I look at it, it does look like Trilbster's chest needs to be rotated a bit to fit on his hips better. Ugh!

Chris's head... The idea is that he is looking over his shoulder (of course not looking where he's running!) Maybe it would look better if we switch the arm positions and had his chest facing move towards the viewer, making the neck craning less drastic.

Casual: That was my favorite of the group of fan-art and looked like it matched the comic well, so we went with it. Glad to see it match up.

Both: Thanks for the great feedback.

Edit: Typo!
