My clue: this actor does not appear in what I would call a STAR WARS movie. By now everyone should know what I mean when I say a thing like that.

I certainly know what you mean. wink.gif

I'm only aware of one actor and if that guy is the answer then your guess is off base. This is a great thread. Good job with the clues, Mike. Didn't give too much away.

i reference to actor two.

I refuse to comment on this clue because to do so would reveal too much. I am surprised that you don't know who actor number 1 is civilian. {NOW THAT's A CLUE!!!! tongue.gif }

As I mentioned before Peter Mayhew is not the answer to either.

BTW don't you guys find it strange that there are so few actors to star in both Star Wars and Star Trek huh.gif ? Do you think both franchises diusscourage it? Though it doesn't stop them both from using Industrial Light and Magic.

Well, if I'm wrong about the first one, then I definitely knew a third actor that you don't know, who appears in what I would not call a STAR WARS movie, as well as in several episodes or films of one STAR TREK franchise and one episode or film of another.

As for your other comment, about the dearth of crossover, the two franchises are different in aspect. One is essentially a tv entity (and its film versions employ, by and large, tv actors), while the other is a film series, whose actors come mainly from film (although if you look at the OT, there are a lot of actors there whose careers began with the BBC). So I think it's largely a coincidence of casting, and not at all indicative of amy sort of conspiracy.

Worth noting, too: STAR TREK finds its supporting characters in Hollywood, while STAR WARS, due to its principle film location, sought (and seeks) its extras and bit players in England. So another factor to weigh in before we consider the conspiracy theory.

(still thinking about who you mean)

Ok. I read all your clues and did a little research, and I am certain that I now know who you mean. And wow, is that pure trivia. Not the sort of thing anybody ought to know! I'd frankly be surprised to find that you learned that without some help.

So I know them both, now. Hooray for me.

Anyway, I have a trivia question for y'all: who is the third actor I thought of? Here are the clues:

1) He appears in a STAR WARS movie, but it's not what _I_ would call a STAR WARS movie.

2) He appears in several episodes or films of one STAR TREK franchise and in one episode or film of another (as a different character).

3) In STAR WARS, he is only ever associated with one other character important to the STAR WARS universe.

Here's a bonus question, the answer to which I couldn't be bothered to find out, but which I know is a fairly large number:

How many STAR WARS actors have appeared in a film or television version of the story of Robin Hood and/or King Arthur? The answer will give you a sense of how British the STAR WARS cast really is!

1. Actually, someone gave me the first. The second actually came by when I looked at the Star Trek side of things via a website.

I have a feeling that I know who the person you are referring to. He is the type of person you would kind of expect WOULD star in Star Wars and Star Trek and Sci-Fi movies. I thought of him when initially answering the trivia question, but could really find nothing on the Star Trek side. You may have uncovered the Star Trek side. His somewhat UNIQUE position gives him considerable advantage. Oh well luck of the irish if I get it the answer to your trivia. wink.gif

I hope you didn't just rush to the IMDB site. I hope you went through a logic chain first and then did the research via other means dry.gif .

Actor 1 actually isn't that hard to guess. It probably has been mentioned before in other Star Wars trivia. In fact the person that gave me the answer got it from a Star Wars trivia of the official site.

Actor 2 is the hard one to figure out.

You have a completely different set of experiences from me. This is natural as we're different people. I say this though because I considered the second actor the "easy" one. After all, his name is known among STAR WARS types, and all one had to do was notice it when watching the relevant STAR TREK episode (which, incidentally, isn't actually a back-in-time episode, so bad clue there). The first one, however, is a doozy. The actor isn't exactly prominent in his STAR WARS persona (I'll say no more), and so I had to go on the STAR TREK clues to find him.

I'm not sure he's even in the imdb, unlike my actor #3, who I don't expect anyone to get.

Congrats, anyway, on being in the inaccurate movie database. So am I, but to preserve anonymity, that's all I'll say ph34r.gif

You guys need to read all your threads at once. It's like sitting between two hot girls in High School, while they talk in code about who is hot and whose a slut.

I guess that means Wilford Brimley is out.

Civillian, you are like the Stanley Crouch of this forum. I guess i might be the Miles Davis, although that's being presumptous. on my part. LOL tongue.gif

Indeed he is. Actor #3 I think is a trick question in some ways. I don't know where the trick is yet.

I am beginning to wonder if you have the right person as actor #1. Don't reveal it yet , though. I want this thing to play out a little longer. As I mentioned i know of only the two, it is possible for their to be others. By the way the special effects people of Industrial Light and Magic don't count as answers.

hmmm. some elusive clues there....

'troi would like him means he wasn't in Next Gen. but the only person that's comming to mind is Brad Dourif... he was a Betazoid like her, exept he was a socio-empath. i've never seen him in star wars but his name won't leave my mind because he's the sci-fi cross over king;
star trek: voyager
babalon 5
X-files
Lord Of The Rings
Dune
Alien: Resurection

all that's left for him is, Dr.Who and Star Wars

I am absolutely certain that I am dead on balls accurate on both counts. And Jordan, they are both sluts.

I have no idea what to do with the comment about us both being Negroes. I know there was a compliment in there, so I'll take it for that.

And yes, it's a mean-spirited, nasty trick question, just like your own, of course, about the guy w** i**'* e*** i* t** c******! Don't waste too much time.

Here's my last clue about actor number three, for anyone who cares:

4) The *ov** he ** ** *a* *r***e* ** *eo*** *u***, and ** ********* *ff****l Star Wars, *** d****le** *o*n* **** ***ld c**s***r ** * Star Wars *****.

Done. Answer to follow!

(not Wilford Brimley)
