I was listening to a sports talk show on the radio today, and this guy came on talking about drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon (and offering same) as an 18-yr old, auditioning for the Dukes of Hazzard. I presumed it was the movie actor fellow, but it was John Schneider! I was never a dukes fan, but I liked his performance as Jonathan Kent on Smallville.

The Starkville guys have a Smallville podcast that's pretty good, and of course I'm happy that they'll be Bo Duke's entourage next Sunday; but I couldn't believe it when I saw that Schneider & Co. will be in my area for Friday and Saturday showings.

Those of you with children might like the movie. I think the proceeds go to local charities (but if you have a chance to see it, don't let that stop you).

Hey, It's me again. I got in line just in time to meet John Schneider, and he was really a great guy. Approachable, friendly and humble. He took time to pose for pics and was real nice to everyone he encountered. If any of you have seen him in Smallville, he seems very much the character he portrayed. Personally I was never a Dukes fan. But I got to meet him so I'm not missing out.

The film was rough on the edges and could use some tuning. But he wrote, produced, directed, starred-in and provided songs for the movie. The drive-in was packed! A local radio show mentioned that all the proceeds were going to a family with a lung transplant and no insurance. The people all around us in line were all real "country", the sort of folks many make fun of. It was great!
