Recently after purchasing a second hand midi keyboard I got back to practicing. First of all to map the sounds of the keys to the letters and revising the chords which may take a long while.

I made up some tunes of my own after experimenting but I can't find anyone who is interested or has a good ear for music to examine my tunes locally. I put in great effort to make them sound right and discovered other tunes to what I remember by matching the keys.

Would anyone here who has played a musical instrument like to examine my tunes?

I was unsure about the title of the thread. I did consider of posting it here but my music isn't live.

Well since nobody seems interested I'll be the judge of my own for now.

Here is the song I thought of weeks ago:

Nothing special but I put a lot of effort in trying to record this correctly without mistakes with my imagination. Let me know what you think.

Despite the possible broken download link I found a reliable place.
Now I thought I'll share another.

This one is just a practice of my layout and please I need some criticism.

After practicing so much on trying to record finally over an hour I finished without making any mistakes and this time I used a string synth instead.

I made a few improvements to the chord patterns to go with the string synth. It sounds beautiful more like the way I intended it to be. Also there should be no more problems on downloading since I found somewhere reliable to upload:

Seriously now what do you think of the tune?

I hear this tune playing every Christmas but I don't know the lyrics or what it is called. As for playing it from memory maybe someone here can name it:

I know it might not be played in order but I discovered it a month ago along with other tunes.
So disappointed. I think I am so poor at remembering names for every single thing making it complex for me to even search on some of the stuff. Only if I remembered the lyrics.

This place seems so quite. Well here is another christmasy tune that is incomplete as I don't know if other part exists. After playing it for a certain amount of time I start to work out parts I might have forgot.

I thought of another today but I am in no state to record yet as I keep on making mistakes with two notes.

I discovered something interesting with mirroring chords along with my current mood. This I will definitely use in miserable tunes with other samples:

Can anyone link their tune so I can hear?

Well this might be my last tune I think of to post here which I didn't post before because the event for it never took place. Three parts but I only included two. The first part in the tune is a direct recording of a pattern I found on the 1st of March with no modifications since and the last ending part I worked out on the 12th of April.

After 02.06 There is a deliberate slight gap at the end of the first tune where the second part takes place.

Sorry if it is not perfect.

I just listened to your last tune, and it's a very pretty and soothing piece of electronica. I love how it's a lot more complicated than it seems at first, but I think that it could use a little more depth, such as the main... I don't know what the instrument is called, but it's the most dominant sound of the first half of the piece. Anyway, I think that could be toned down a little after a while for the other parts of the music to be heard better, and perhaps an overall main melody could be added, and maybe those main notes on the main instrument could change a little more often. It was really great when it faded into the second piece, which was similar but different enough that it really helped the composition as a whole.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the piece, I just think with a little work it could be even better. smile.gif
