I recently downloaded Inform 7 and have been trying to learn how to make interactive fiction, like Zork, or Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Anybody here have any favorite text adventure games from the Infocom days?

West of House

You are standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door.
There is a small mailbox here.

The one introduction to an adventure that has stuck with me forever. To me, that White House is Shangri-la.

It is very dark here. You are likely to be eaten by a Grue. <- Only the greatest text adventure line in existence!

West of House

You are standing in an open field west of the white house, with a heavily boarded front door.
There is a very very small mailbox here...as pres Bush could care less to read any mail from Americans on what they have to say about him or his administration.

Eric The Unready was a great text adventure. I'm sp glad I found it on one of those Abandonware sites. If you ever get a chance, you should check it out. wub.gif

Wait... text adventures can have graphics, right? Like, still pictures? unsure.gif
