But, you know it's a "Reader's Picks" list so it's 90% games from the last five years.
Best X ______ Ever lists are always nonsense. Someone should get to work on a Best _____ Database instead, with user comments.
I know my top 10 games but putting them in order is useless and difficult.

The thought of the large banners on the left hand and top corner of that page is starting making me feel sick. I see a piece of dried up mud. As it is big maybe that is their top rated number 1.

one question comes to mind when reading this expansive list,..did IGN (b.k.aa the company that owns GamePro) accept any money from companies wanting their games to be ranked high? Resident Evil 4 is an awesome game,..but i still would not rank it as being the absolute best game every made in the past 30 or so years! Im thinking Capcom paid IGN a hefty sum to be listed as such.
these types of lists really piss me off. they aremy compiled by true video game aficianados, rather by fan boys (or girls) that simply played a certain game, and loved it so much, they want to rant about it. this is quite evident being that the majority of games on this list were released in the last 5 years.
did they even take into consideration games of the course of the past 30 years here?? yes,.i know consoles of yesteryear didnt sport as much technical power as they do today,..but i dont judge games by their graphics. i judge games by their gameplay! is the game fun? is it addictive? is it easy to get into? does it challenge the mind? test your skill? these and many more attributes are what make a great game...not how good the graphics are.
i also judge games if they have made some sort of impact to the gaming world, not merely by them being top-sellers,.but if they introduced some type of new concept into the gaming world
Now,..this is a list of what i personally feel to be the greatest 100 games of all time. and unlike the IGN list, which i feel is biased, i will attempt to take an unbiased approach at listing what i feel is the best 100 games ever, from now all the way back to the atari 2600 days, encompassing games over the span of almost 30 years. this list doesnt represent my own personal picks, but rather what i feel the gaming community as a whole would agree to be the best. this list is in random order.

But you're fully entitled to your own opinion, of course. You are commended for actually throwing a list of 99 games together. I wouldn't be able to name more than maybe 15 without lots of help.

It's a bit unfair complaining that the list is biased. Of course it is, a person, or group of people, made it. Even if they're going off of sales, the list is still biased by a games advertising budget. Personally, I wouldn't put tetris on, because I don't think it's a good game. I don't care that it's a classic, it never interested me. Likewise, I wouldn't rank a single sports game, and the only racing game that I think is any good is Carmageddon (I'm not counting GTA as a racing game).

I beg to differ. Get a copy of Timesplitters 2 and find the Anaconda cart in the first level. 4 player Anaconda (or Chuacabra as we call it, it's a long story) is the greatest multiplayer event imaginable. I have personally seen it convert even non-gamers to it's greatness.

At least they put Ocarina of Time as #2. I would have put it at #1, but since my video game expertise is limited to only KOTOR and Ocarina of Time, I probably shouldn’t have a say.

Best. Game. Ever? No idea. Something old and fantastic and ultra positively influential, like SMB3. *shrug*

Final Fantasy X == completely fucked up, just like FF IX. VIII was nice, VII was absolutely brilliant and III (i.e. VI) was the best FF ever. Full stop.
Chrono Trigger... now that one clearly deserves to be No. 1. The only thing that bugged me about it were those crappy drawings made by those horrible horrible people who drew Dragon Ball, too.

if you want to see a horrid game, you should play Vib Ribbon for Playstation. the graphics are terrible, it looks like a vector game drawn by a toddler.
