You know, I recently read Yahtzee's Travel Notes in the features page and this caught my eye:
QUOTE
I'm running out of things to do in here. I've already written two articles for Hyper, scripted my next game and added a substantial amount to my novel, as well as winning Solitaire eight times.

Now, this was supposedly happening around march 19th of this year (that was about 7 months ago). The game he's reffering to is obviously Trilby's Notes, but what novel is he reffering to? Has anyone else heard anything about this? Frankly, after running out of material to read on Fullyramblomatic (features, archives, comics, essays, the works) *coughupdatescough* I'm quite desperate for something new... I know Yahtzee a busy god but still... By the way, currently reading Better Days of a Ripman, that should keep me busy for a day or two...

And what about his older projects?
In the games department, I can only remember Stan & Lee... I liked how that began.
In the novel department, he has the Afterreich, (which I really enjoyed, and it would surpass Articulate Jim if it only would've been complete) Captain Neutral, (another one I enjoyed) the Energax Arrangement, (more of a curiosity) and Better Days of a Ripman, my current lecture. If only he could focus a bit...
Now, let me be clear, I don't want to tell Yahtzee how do his "job", all I want is some closure...

Oh, and by the way, I read Yahtzee's Diary of a Fictional Diarist, but I can't seem to find his older work as the site which hosted Diary of a Fictional Diarist and older novels (the name of the site escapes me) had in the archives works as old as 6 months ago. Nothing earlier than that... Of course, any unfinished work he might have and is willing to post a link here to would be welcomed. And there I go dreaming again...

Well, that's my case. I hope someone can offer me some closure... I don't expect Yahtzee to post as he and/or Rhubarb apparently hate me and I don't blame them. (I won't say I was a jerk as that wouldn't solve anything) And I apologise from the bottom of my heart again for taking up precious space. And I hope Rhubarb can see that I've "grown up" or come to my senses (after banging my head against the wall three times) as I like to say.
"Once upon a time, musta been 'round October, few years back, in one o' dose TOP SECRET LAB-MOTORIES de gubbnint keep stashed away underneath Virginia, an EVIL PRINCE, occasion'ly employed as a part-time THEATRICAL CRITICIZER set to woikin' on a plot fo de systematic GENOCIDICAL REMOVE'LANCE of all unwanted highly-rhythmic individj'lls an' sissy-boys!" (Prologue, Thing-Fish)

So true, Otal, but I think he can channel that hate into one person, and then that person will instantaneously combust or something... Or maybe he can hate one person less to hate one person more... or he just has an infinite vat of hate... I dunno... I feel so hated right now...

But nevermind that, what about Poseidon 12? That too is added to the above unfinished games list. That game just goes to show that Yahtzee can apply sci-fi to ANYTHING. I would've sincerely wanted to see that finished...

And what will happen after the Fourth Trilby Game (as I like to call it)? I don't know about you, but I'm terrified of the prospect that he'll give up on the whole internet thing all together, scrap Fullyramblomatic, and then he will persue a life in reality (what is real? how do you define real?) ...

unsure.gif And then the sky will fall and aliens will invade and the whole fekkin' world will explode!

I afraid... So very afraid...

Me too my friend, me too, what kind of life we will be living without yahtzee anyways?
wasn't it yahtzee who practically taught us that quality is more important than quantity? and that a 10MBs game can easily beat a 3GBs one? I think that once he say "Good-Bye" a universal disequilibrium will occur, and we will be forcefully brought back to "The Quantity" doom.

So true... when I first saw the screenshots for 5 Days on Abandonia I thought this game definetly has over 10 Megs archived... But then I saw the size... Just under 1.2 Mb! I immediately wrote it onto a 1.44 Mb diskette (this was when I didn't have internet at home) and immediately rushed to 7 Days, to experience the same thing...

When I read Yahtzee's "I'm Off" I thought the world was crashing down on me... every word felt like another knife that went through me... But then I found out Yahtzee didn't actually quit... he was just taking a pause... Suddenly, my life had meaning again.

I propose that when Yahtzee dies (if he ever dies) that we cryo his brain so that future generations analyse it and find out what exactly made him tick. And then, we will have Yahtzee clones, writing 24 hours a day, and the world will laugh with out pause, we will have people dieing of laughter...

*bangs head on wall*

*repeats*

Right, I think I went a little overboard.... But there is truth among those words...

PS: I would really like to see Yahtzee's lesser known work... (whether it be novels or games or such) He might consider it shite, but to me, it's gold.

But that game's basically finished, isn't it? It just doesn't have any music which can be easily solved if you turn on Winamp. Oh, and it was never officially released, but who gives a shit about that.

Fair enough, David, but look at it this way: had Yahtzee had more time on it (provided his inspiration didn't get the best of him and clonked him with a new ideea) maybe it would've been even greater, with the option to buy items in your room individually, or add more depth to relationships or fix that bloody double ok button. And to be fair, it had numerous bugs (I haven't found any yet, except for graphical ones, but those I tend to ignore).

And I know full well how it is to be god-awfully lazy. I myself suffering from an extreme form of "can't be arsed" syndrome. I can't be arsed to get up in the morning at 10. I can't be arsed to take a shower or shave. I can't be arsed to go to work when the boss wants me to (which is why I'm currently unemployed). I also can't be arsed to get out of my parents' house and stop sucking the life out of them... But that's another story...

By the way, I just acquired two of Yahtzee's old IF games, "Arthur Yahtzee: The Curse of Hell's Cheesecake" and "Offensive Probing" and I must say, I didn't fancy interactive fiction games that much because I usually got lost in them. But, of course, Yahtzee's games are different. You're not invaded with ridiculous ammounts of text. The "cutscenes", if you will are of perfect length as are the room descriptions. It actually feels like you're reading one of his novels. And this is a very good thing since I'm running out of things of Yahtzee's to read. I've just finished reading Yahtzee's Adventure Gamers articles and- hey, wait a minute. What's up with that? It's been over a year since his last article... Right, back to what I was saying: and I've read almost half of Better Days of a Ripman...

And I still can't help wondering what will come after the last Trilby game... Assuming Yahtzee doesn't dump us, that is...

Woahwoahwoah, where'd you find those games?

I was under the impression Yahz considered the basic plot and functionality of P12 complete at the first release, pending any bugs the testers found. P12 seemed to spew out more bugs the more he fixed -- look at how long that thread was.

So yeah, where'd you find those games?

Well, I ran a search for Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw which didn't prove entirely futile. I discovered his articles at Adventure Gamers and the two IF games. You can find the games here.

Quit whining! I bet you never pissed Yahtzee off so much he made a little animation to insult you like he did to me. (If you want to see it, click here.) The only other person I can think of who did this is Jane Sherwood, for the puffins vs lemurs thread. Well, that was addressed to all the posters on the thread, but the award goes to her because she was the person who had the balls to start something so inane on the FR forum. That last sentence is giving me some very disturbing thoughts.

Oh, really, VD? I publicly insulted an entire nation! I then got letters even from non-americans who told me I was a goddamned prick bastard (but in nicer words, obviously). Like I didn't realise that. You just wouldn't stop talking. That is just a miss-demeanor (hope I spelt that right, but you get it). Besides, I bet Yahtzee just didn't have anything to do, or heard a baby cry constantly before he got home, so he was extra angry. And besides, I didn't know there were hidden messages in the images! Now I have to re-read the entire archive. That should keep me busy for two or three days... No, wait. Make that a week (bad internect connection, damn it!).

Yes, I too was wondering what happened to Jane, why she wasn't posting anymore. And what happened to the other "veterans"? Mysty (or something), Little Princess, Yahtzee's mother (hehe) and others. I don't see icey post as often, either... Oh, and by the way, what thread? (a.k.a. I can't be arsed at the moment to look it up, so I was hoping you might post a link).

blink.gif If I do say so myself, you are one sick puppy. That is just fekkin' wrong, man. You don't talk about balls and a Lady (as in the British way of saying Lady - an esteemed woman - not the American way - a chick). Couldn't you have said something along the lines of "she didn't have the guts" or the "nerve"? Jeez, man.

PS: I would like to apologise for the bad title, I typed to fast.

PSS: I too hate the "edit rule".

Why are you all such PONCES? Why does Yahtzee still have faith in his site when threads like this are created on his forum? YOU WILL NEVER HAVE BUMSEX WITH YAHTZEE, GET OVER IT

blink.gif Umm... mr. Adam, or mr. M, whatever, I'm going to write this the nicest way I can: I'm insulted that you even considered that I'm sucking up to Yahtzee. I DON'T do that. I tell it as it is. And frankly, the way you wrote your opinion tells something about you. Please refrain from such outbursts. I have created this thread so that someone can enlighten me on why and how certain projects were abandoned, whether or not they'll be picked up and possibly to post some links to Yahtzee's lesser known work, like I have earlier with the IF games. And you didn't do anything of the sorts. Actually, you did the opposite.

PS: (warning, angry and bad language coming up) Don't you think for one second that the fact that you have one blue square over me gives you the right to slag me off. What the fuck's your problem anyway? Cool the hell down. Relax. Jeez.
