Yesterday morning, on my way to work, I got rather involved in being sleepy on the subway while listening to my iPod and I missed my stop. It was a beautiful morning, so I decided to just walk to work from that stop instead of waiting for the next uptown train.

It was a beautiful morning as I walked up Sixth Avenue when I saw a man my height approaching. I thought that he was dressed much the way Jon Stewart may dress and as he approached, I found there was a good reason for that. It was Jon Stewart. (I bet you saw that one coming and you still couldn't get out of the way). I saw him a couple of years ago at the America The Book booksigning at the Time Warner Center Borders location.

He was carrying what I would consider to be an unnecessary amount of coffee. Perhaps it's expanded in my mind but I think he was carrying a four coffee caddy and two coffees in another hand. As he passed I gave him a quick glance and he hesitantly made eye contact. Undoubtedly he was thinking, "Oh Christ, don't let this guy talk to me for any reason. I just want to get this coffee home to my wife and have a relaxing Sunday morning."

I'm not exactly Mr. Approach-a-Celebrity so even though I'm a huge fan of Mr. Stewart, I respected those wishes. More importantly, I respected the desire of someone to get to their coffee while it's still hot.

I don’t think I could keep a straight face if I just happened across some famous folks while I was out for a stroll. I once saw Bruce Willis coming out of a convenient store just outside of Detroit and get into the parked car that was 2ft from me. I was in Junior High so I did not yet possess the ability to not gawk. Mr. Willis was kind enough to smile. I’ve had a crush on him ever since. wub.gif

I remember running into Nick Anderson (#25 of the Orlando Magic) at a McDonalds when I was possibly 13... I asked for a picture and autograph and he gave me this cold look and mubbled something. He then got into his convertible BMW and peeled out of the parkinglot. Seriously now, what did he expect, there's a crapload of kids in McDonalds, right near Universal Studios, and he doesn't think that he won't attract attention?! He was a giant! You could see him in the restaurant from the street!

Later, an acquantance of mine saw Nick Anderson in the airport and he tore him up on how bad is basketball skills are. This was pointless really. But I did hear that Nick did tell on this kid to his mom about his insults. He's friggin' grown! Why is he crying to his mom, now?!

I worked for a day on a Pierce Brosnan-Rachel McAdams project, "Marriage." I felt no impulse to tell him that my identity on this forum came from a Nintendo game based on a movie he'd starred in. However, wouldn't it have been fucking hillarious if I had? I mean really.

Living in a movie making mecca, it must be really easy to see all sorts of famous people.
In my experience, if they're rappers or singers of any kind, at their shows they're your best friend. But on their down time, they can get real snippy. So i usaually look from afar. But hey if the celeb is worth it to you... i say let yourself be heard.

Imagine if you were in his position, and somebody told you that? Just how are you supposed to react?

Undoubtedly he'd scribble the URL on a napkin then run home and register on the forums.

That's funny as hell. Thanks, Tek. If you hadn't necroposted here, I never would have seen the punchline of that thread, since I somehow missed it at the time. Well Mr Brosnan, welcome to the forums! laugh.gif

Mr. Brosnan, with all due respect, you're a great actor, but Craig, to me at least, is still the better Bond! No worries, though! smile.gif
