So basically you don’t know anything about the Vietnam War.

Which parts did I get wrong?

You know I was just being sarcastic about "evil prevailed", right?

Grinov is Cheto. So don't be suprised if he comes off as sounding like a sarcastic smart ass, all in one sentence.

Also, don't be alarmed if he posts "i was joking" in the next post.

From what I've seen, the United States' involvement in Vietnam was perpetuated by the Red Scare, McCarthy, and all that "Communism is going to kill us all" nonsense. They had their whole Domino Theory, where they thought that if Vietnam became a completely Communist country, then the rest of the world would follow, and all trade with them would be cut off, putting an end to America's precious consumerist ways. I'm probably wrong, but oh well.

Anyway, it's not a good idea to base your foreign policy on amusing activities with game devices. We should consider ourselves lucky that it wasn't a House of Cards Theory. Who knows what could have happened then...

THat is essentially why the US joined, to stop Communism from spreading. That's what they were worried about. France was trying to hold on their colonies.

Lecter's Three Step Vietnam War Course:

1. The reason behind the start of the war: American government didn't want Vietnam to establish an independent economic system from the US.
2. The American objective of Vietnam: destroy Vietnam so that any successive government would either be unable to recover economically, or be completely dependent on the United States (and its allies, of course).
3. Why did the war end: Well, even though it could have ended 1965 (according to the McGeorge Bundy, the national security advisor for Kennedy and Johnson) because at that moment in time, all of America's objectives were complete. The war ended because the cops forget which country they were in and thought for a second they were in Vietnam. So, they did, as they do in Vietnam, and beat the shit out of passive, unarmed children with big sticks. Thus leading the end of Vietnam.

There will be a test at the end of semester 2, extra marks for the first person that can tell me who the Americans fought in the Vietnam War. Anyone uses the terms: Vietcong, or communism, will be instantly dropped from the course, please people, we are not talking about how they jusified it.

The worst part was how it was all total bullshit and completely ignorant of Marx' real writings. There was no communism in any of those countries. It was a totalitarian, state capitalist system. Marx actually tended to rail on governments like those that China and the USSR set up.

I would hardly call Vietnam War protestors "passive".

They were fighting against Vietnamese Social and Economic Independance. As you mentioned earlier.
