Hey Civilian. Good to see you too.

Regarding the small-scale nature of the plot, I'm actually with you on that. For me, the "What was the point?" feeling stemmed from the last act where Bond was killing off bad guys who were never properly introduced in the first place - like the guy with the strange eye-glass for instance. Nor was it ever really clear what Mr White's deal was.

Although, thinking about it in hindsight, I still got a good hour's worth of entertainment from the movie so I got my money's worth - and I think you're right that now the new Bond's got through his initiation, the future installments should be pretty good.

I also liked the fact that this new Bond actually kills people with a gritty realism and doesn't brush it off with short quip. His 'Terminator' demeanour worked really well.

Tru Jade, it's nice that you agree on that torture scene issue too. Regarding your 'Miami Vice' experience though, it's never a good idea to sit out a bad film to see how it ends. You'll invariably regret it.

Once again Just your average movie goer is on the money.
I was very happy to see a hands on killer bond and
YES, oh God yes those onelines near the

end of the series with Brosnan
where so cringe-worthy.
A sharp witty remark is acceptable now and again

but i was beginning to hate all those puns.
Like enough was not enough for the director
and script guy but it was for me...

But that scarfaced guy he chases through
the jungle had some mutant /double-joint
ability that i wasn't quite ready to believe.

As for Miami Vice i only stayed for 2 reasons:
1. My cousin and i had half price tickets and
2. She made me stay.

We weren't gonna give that movie the satisfaction of just taking our money.
To be honest the last 30 mins. where the best part of the movie.
Which is brilliant filmmaking if your audience has a horribly short attention span
