Who said anything about powers cancelling out other powers?

I think it's just the case that, over the thousand years or whatever it was where they were exiled and all thought to be dead, they developed powers that would help them survive. Otherwise, wouldn't the Jedi have been able to track them all down and kill them before TPM?

Doesn't a power that helps you hide, sneak about and lie seem like the perfect dark side trick?

It's not them hiding themselves I have a problem with, so much as the fact that they seem able to affect the Force as a whole. The Jedi are always going on about how the Dark Side is growing stronger and clouding their vision, preventing from seeing what's really happening to the galaxy. Because of two Sith versus thousands of Jedi?

The sandpeople had women and children. We know this because Anakin killed them how could he tell? The children might be smaller but I never saw a sandperson with breasts. Did they hike their skirts and show him some leg or something?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

Right. But they were also the frog boiling on GL's stove.

If there was any kind of consistency to the "Jedi code," they wouldn't have hunted the Sith down in the first place. The Jedi were supposed to be reactive or defensive.

They don't affect the Force, they just use the dark side of it. After Obi Wan is incredulous that a Sith in high power wouldn't already have been detected by the Jedi, Dooku says that "the dark side" (not Sidious) has clouded their vision.

It isn't a matter of actual numbers on either the Jedi or the Sith "side", its a matter of balance. Its the "bad" half of the Force tampering with the "good". The Sith simply tap into that power and utalise it. Their source of power is the same if there are 10,000 sith or (as in the films) 2.

Theres nothing in the films about Jedi hunting down Sith. Mauls comment about "revenge" is fairly ambigous.

The main problem I have with this is Yoda and Mace sit across from Palpatine at the start of Ep. II and can't sense much of anything.

Even with the dark side clouding them, how can they be so out of it, and he so strong in the force to block their senses for so many years and so close??
