We didn't KNOW his hands were made of metal. It was INTERESTING the less we knew. But now we know DV has an iron hand and invented threepio, isn't it so much better?
Do You Think Vader Got Any Additional Training From Palpatine? From what we see in ROTS and the OT, It Doesn't seem so

God, don't remind me. I'm sorry I asked.

We knew it was made of metal like Luke's as soon as he got his fakey Mr. Roboto hand chopped off in ROTJ. It's not like we had to wait until the PT to find that out.

Anakin claimed to have been mentored by Palpatine but we never saw it, therefore it never happened.
It was mentioned once in one scene in one film. All of 2 seconds was devoted to it.

If you go by that logic, then Lando never owned the Millenium Falcon since it was never shown on screen.

Then it's a good thing the OT wasn't conjured up to revolve around Lando's ownership of the Millenium Falcon, isn't it?

We already know you don't believe anything the characters say since you refuse to accept that Luke could possibly have been a good pilot before the climactic battle in ANH.

Now come on, Storm actually made a cogent, well reasoned objection.
Is that really what it does? I had always read about the force-choke being described as feeling an invisible hand around your throat.
I would really like to think that Vader got extra training from Palpatine; I'm just at a loss at to what that training might have been.
But then, here's a thought. Do you think maybe Palpatine didn't really train Vader because the person that he really wanted to be his successor was Luke? I did get the impression that he was basically ready to throw Vader away if Luke turned to the Dark Side.

1. His increased ability in being able to force choke people.
he choked padme... in ep 3
well he didn't learn it from the emporer...
i think that was fuck up... there are only three jedi who die in the OT and they ALL become ghosts.
it only became a 'skill' as such in ep3. it was an issue that really should have been avoided in the PT.
i always thought that half had something to do with the suit.
either way...
you'd think somewhere in the two decades following the empoerers "sorry, i don't know that skill... i'll figure it out later, but welcome aboard" speach, that vader might have made the odd query...
VADER: "so... uh.. master... figure out that keep people alive thing yet?"
EMPORER: "eh... no."
VADER: "hmmmm... well, uh... wanna teach me LVL 20 'force lightening'?"
EMPORER: "no... i don't think so."
VADER: "so er, why am i so loyal again?"
EMPORER: "because i'm all you got."
VADER: "yeah, because you made me kill all my friends..."
EMPORER: "so what are you saying?"
VADER: "nothing... nothing... maybe you should get some sleep..."

"Someday, I'll be able... I'll be able to save people from DYING!"
Someday, pfftt. He'd Already given up.
Most powerful ever? He couldn't save himself from dying.
And OT lines are sure to be changed: "I haven't had this feeling since... Some day..." or perhaps:
Tarkin: "Vader, release him"
Vader: "I suppose I Can stop a person from dying"
