This article will confound if you if you've never seen The Waltons... and also if you have.

Now that you've read the article, here's the "Bonus references to find" list (like in the back of the Where's Waldo? books):

klingon kulture (perhaps; something roddenberring in hell, at any rate)
Mortal Kombat (or perhaps a bit of Mola Ram)
M. Night Shammalah's "The Village"
Peter Paul & David Paul's "Think Big"

Only one of those references is intentional!

I found, so that was a 1972 film?

Never heard of it before but that sounds tempting for me watch.

Man, I wish I had seen an episode of the Waltons. Regardless, that was delightful.

Side note 1: I have met TV's "John boy" on several occassions. He is a very nice man, though I don't know if I can say the same about John Boy until I see an episode of the show.

Side note 2: You are CARRYING L&E on your own, sista! It's inspiring. I can't wait to jump on the writing-things-again bandwagon soon!

How can people say TV is a bad when it leads to articles of this quality. This is my favorite L&E article since Ginger Barad-Dur! Go Laura go! and here's another exclamation point for extra approval!

Like just about everyone here apart from Cemetary Guy, I was too young to truly appreciate the Waltons, but I did see some of it. I also had the opportunity to meet with Richard Thomas while he was up here filming Stephen King's IT. He's a totally noce guy who realizes he's no superstar. Lately I have been working with Matt Frewer, another ongoing actor whose celebrity peaked early, and he's pretty much the same. A totally normal guy who happens to have been on TV and is familiar to millions, even if most of them can't remember his name.

Matt Frewer was friends with my sister when I was like, 6, and he used to let me sip beer.

It's always comforting when that is the case. It's really sad when they expect everyone to treat them as if they are some sort of living god.
