Ronaldinho has been appointed as the United Nations' spokesman for Sport for Development and
Peace and will make a speech at the UN headquarters in New York on Friday.
The fact that the Brazilian superstar is a symbol of happiness and his universal attraction has impressed the UN. In honour of his new role with the body, Ronaldinho will be presented in his new role at 19:00 (CET) in the head offices of the UN on Friday.
As a spokesman for the UN Ronaldinho will help the organisation with the movement that was created during the International Year of Sport and Physical Education (YSPE 2005). The aim is to mobilise the football world and all encourage supporters to to promote sport as a way of developing socially and economically and to aid health, education and peace.
