What the hell was Yoda bitching about when he complained about Jedi being arrogant in ep3 (or was it 2?) I mean, yeah, Anakin was, but he was constantly refered to as the chosen one. Something tells me that Yoda was just being a smart alecky dick head. What say ye?

Yoda was just being annoying. Like when he met Luke.

Only this time nobody was laughing.

I think pretty much no matter what anyone said Yoda would have found a way to complain about the Jedi.

Anakin's powers made him fart today

Ah yes, flatulence - a flaw more and more common among Jedi.

Anakin/Vader's supposed arrogance has nothing on the arrogance of one George Lucas.

What I'm thinking about is when Sidious says to Yoda, "Your arrogance blinds you Master Yoda!"

I'm really thinking it did to Yoda and all of the Jedi council. Obviously none of them were able to see a goddam thing concerning ANYTHING that happened in the PT. I mean seriously, not friggin' Jedi accomplished anything at all in the PT unless they had the aid of GL. All the Jedi were overly arrogant, for Yoda to label any Jedi that is preposterous... he needs to look in the mirror rolleyes.gif

I think you're onto something, Sieve Boy. Perhaps Yoda in his arrogance chose the wrong word.

MY chosen word for the Jedi in the PT was "IDIOT!"

Actually, Barend, I think the PT would have been best viewed with no dialogue whatsoever and just have the regular sound effects and the music. How cool would that be, to not have to listen to that awful script?

I agree JMHoffmarn, what "arrogance" is Yoda referring to? All they ever do is sit around doing nothing. They're arrogant about sitting around? It's one of Lucas' stupid throwawaybutjustsoundsgood lines.

And too true on Lucas' horrible arrogance. He's the biggest arrogant mother****er I've ever known.

Actions do speak louder than words biggrin.gif

That would be neat though, seeing all the actors go though the motions but never talk... I think that would make for a good story and a box office smash to anyone who truly respects story acting and physical emotion as such.

Given how flat and lifeless the acting was, it's amazing we could read ANY kind of recognizable human persoanlity trait in any of the characters.

It's like Chef mentioned in his reasons to hate AOTC. Yoda would question you if you said you were out of pop-tarts.

Just because Yoda was annoyingly wise during ESB, doesn't mean he was always like that. I pictured him with more of an easy-going personality before the fall of the Republic. You know, like he exhibited when Luke first met him, not being aware that that was in fact Yoda.

I feel that George Lucas was trying his hardest to make Yoda come accross as wise and experienced in the PT but it ended up being rather rude. I suppose GL has never spoken to anyone wise or experienced in anything in his life. I also presume Yoda to be a character from old Kurosawa films but GL didn't do it right. GL seems to think that being witty and "clever" is true wisdom. Pshhh, .... just look at the battle droids in EP III. That added diologue between them just made my eyes water in the theater. I felt very uneasy about the scenes where the droids were saying stupid things with an attitude.

Yoda was cool in ESB and ROTJ. His speech wasn't so badly mangled that you could just barely get the point of what he was talking about. In reading Japanese, I found that when you translate Japanese to American, you have to turn the words around to sound American. This is what I always thought Yoda was supposed to be, kind of an old Japanese sensei that could tear holes in people and go back to being really melow. George Lucas just made nonsense out of something that could have been really awesome in the PT.
