Obi-Wan = Anakin Skywalker

For a brief moment I had an idea of how could the movie turned if :
Qui-Gon would be Obi-Wan
Obi-Wan would be Anakin Skywalker
Anakin Skywalker would be Jar Jar and
Jar Jar would be one of them sper....mediclorians.

QuiGon (aka ObiWan) shouldn't have gotten killed (or may it wouldn't matter if he does get killed, since he is all into ghost jedi force thing in OT - that would trigger ObiWan (now as Anakin) into rage and his downfall).

thoughts?

Qui-Gon was a pointless character to include, even though Liam Neeson manages to be watchable even in the worst roles. He contradicted the idea of Obi-Wan being impressed with Anakin upon meeting him and basically did all this leg work that Obi-Wan was supposed to do.

Agreed, Aquaman.

But I think the idea of Qui Gon being the 'real' Obi-Wan character is quite satisfying. It would have made better movies. Plus a romance thrown in the mix. (But not one that was as pointless as the Ani/Padme thingy.) It would have made for a character driven story, not for a fx driven one...
