Text parser works with a list which places words and their synonyms into several categories in order to save a lot of programming.

Another reason to trow the parser to the garbage can and use clicking on the next game.

Well, personally I liked the parser system, possibly because it was a lot smarter than the ones used in the old Sierra games, and a WHOLE LOT smarter than the ones used in the present AGI or SCI fan games. I felt it was a lot more professional work, since almost any synonym I could think of was implemented.

So if the parser system is well made then I don't think it should be called an obsolete system, it prevents the desperate, brutal everything-on-everything tactic of frustrated adventure game players. You just have to have an idea on what you want to do next.

After Abed dissapears, I tried to enter A2 (Can't remember if it was in reality or gory reality ), so I typed "Open door" only to be greeted with "It Hurts". So just for kicks I type "It Hurts", and the responce was "it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts ( etc )". Did that have to do anything with the story or did Y-man do that for kicks? >_>

Anyways finished the game, completely satisfied with it, so first let me get this, in 5 days we kill the body, in 7 days we kill the soul and the mind, and if those 3 are destroyed then Chzo can be summoned? Do I hear a hint that another game is in the making?

By destroying the idol, Somerset destroys DeFoe's soul, so the mind is still out there somewhere, or, it may have been taken care of by Trilby or someone else before that. We don't know. Yahtzee said he'd make a last chapter for this saga, but that might take a while.

Oh, cmon. Yahtzee says he'll make the last game but the true is that on the way things are going, he could add a dozen more games to the Trilby's series without loosing the storyline. There are too many unsolved questions to be fixed in a single sequel.

Heh, you probably haven't read Articulate Jim yet. Most of the unresolved things get resolved on the very last page in that novel.

Articulate Jim is awesome. I printed out the whole thing and it's in my room somewhere. Yahtzee should publish it on Lulu or somewhere - I'd buy it.

It's a fucking great novel, and I find it tragic that the publishers don't read the books they get. If you read the letter Yahtzee got from them (it's somewhere in the archives), you'll see that in Articulate Jim's case, it was evident that they hadn't read further than the 3rd page.

Hang on, so if the body was in DeFoe Manor, and the soul was in the idol, and the mind isn't in the idol, where else could it possibly be?

Tsssk, that's an easy one. Come on guys, use a bit of logic here: It's obviously in New Jersey. Where each and every one of you is going to end one day! yell.gif You'll probably even deserve it.

Well, if you find out, you wont need to play the next game.

To the Ethereal Realm with this! Is it possible to say that John DeFoe had ever had a mind?

Someone needs to find me a link to that. I wasn't around before the blue FR.com design, so I have no idea when to look.

Also, Lulu will publish anything. I'm gonna submit Articulate Jim and just get one copy for myself. biggrin.gif

As far as I know, we're told what happened to the mind in Trilby's Notes SE. In fact, there's been a lot of unanswered questions asked here that were answered TN SE, and I'm begining to think it's a bad thing since we're kinda stuck talking about the stuff on the surface without being able to discuss about the stuff below without spoiling the mystery for other people or feeling bad for getting Yahtzee to lose sales. dry.gif

Hell, they even published Dinner of Leeks. Which, incidentally, you should all buy. It's awesome.
