Seriously, the only time any of the Storm Troopers manage to shoot a main character it's Princess Leia. Leia got shot in ANH (granted it was only a stun shot, but still, it probably hurt) and then in ROTJ she gets shot in the arm. Luke, Han, Chewie, Lando never get shot. Okay, the droids got shot, but they're droids so they don't really apply here since this is about the human main characters.

I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an obi-wan to go.

Darth Vader gets shot at, but for some reason he seems to absorb it. I've never been quite clear as to what happens when Han shoots at him. Does he deflect the shots? If so, then why would the Jedi even bother using light sabers in the PT?

I think that GL is anti-feminist wink.gif

Back in the late 70's & early 80's all those feminist movements were going around and whatnot and GL probably just wanted to make a point in his movies to "stick it to'em!"

Either that or its like the GI Joe cartoons as no guys ever got in those and there weren't too many female types. I'm thinking that if there were fewer characters in GI Joe with only one woman, the chick probably would have been capped of a few times, eh?

Luke gets shot while fighting on Jabbas sail barge in ROTJ remember.

Leia gets shot twice (once with stun) and is tortured by her dad.

Han is tortured by Leias dad too. ("Are you good enough for my daughter, smuggler f**k!?)

I don't really read anything into it. If Leia had gotten shot 3-4 times with blasters I would.

I wouldn't have minded though if she kept wearing the metal bikini.

The better question is: Why was stun only used once?
It seems like everyone is over the nitpicking. Too bad.

what about all the dudes on the tantive 4? the only reason they weren'ty main characters was because they got killed....

shooting a girl running down a corridor... it's not much of a task.

a guy in white in a forest getting the better of a girl in camo... that's something else.

And, what might I ask was the point of having your scouts totally not blend in with the environment? Solidarity? Fuck that, being able to suprise attack people might compensate for the lack of ability when it comes to shooting things. Aw, who am I kidding.
Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.

"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

I always just assumed it was what happens when laser blasts smack against a giant fucking robot hand.

And Lucas hates women. ROTJ makes that abundantly clear.

Try the scene where Jabba kills his dancing girl because she refuses his sexual advances. If it hadn't been a Star Wars movie, that scene would have earned it a damning "Restricted to Audiences 15 Years and Over" rating.

That part made me wonder if Lucas had some type of misogynist thing going on - especially because nothing is made of it. It just happens, then Lucas shouts "Game on!" and Leia and Chewie come in.

Then later in the movie, our lady of soundtrack sorrow comes on in the mourning wail to end all mourning wails for that one ewok that gets killed ... right before Lucas does another "Game on!" for a few thousand people getting killed when the Death Star destroys their cruiser (but that's another story).

Right. It serves no purpose, since when we end up seeing the rancor, we see it eat one of those stupid looking pig guards. The death of the dancing girl is just unecessary and cruel, especially in the original edition. He draws it out with her screaming in agony over and over again, and the whole vibe is just really creepy and foul. It doesn't prop up Jabba as a villain, since all he did was drop some random slave down a pit. It doesn't serve as a hint as to what's down there, since Lucas then feels the need to later graphically show us what the rancor does when it eats the pig guard. Then when you combine it with Jabba, er, LUCAS taking the one significant female character from his films and has her creepily molested and chained up in a skimpy outfit...what the fuck, man?

Jabba himself is basically a giant schlong on a dais...his backup plan after the rancor bites it is to toss all of the male characters into what is essentially a mutant vagina with teeth. THAT plot is foiled only when Luke gets his hands on his glowing penis, after it errupts from the head of his dick-bot, R2. What the hell is going on with the first half of ROTJ? Didn't Lucas get divorced right around that time? Dude had/has some issues...

Did you know that "Carkoon" means "large female crotch" in Swahili?

Also, the Freudian analysis was done way back:
"I see your Schwartz is as big as mine"

I can't believe you guys (I assume guys) were even paying attention to the plot during the ROTJ Jabba's palace scenes.

All I was paying attention to was Princess Leia's rack.

And "Mon Mothra" is stemmed from "Moaning Mother", er, kinda.

Were there any FE-woks, or was Leia the only female on their habitat also?

Rule 1) Orbiting body based on singular climate

Rule 2) singular Female body in the climate, in chains, in the torture room...

Sexist? Probably.

Racist? I'll say yes to that one too. The only African American is Lando, but I think Billy Dee Williams was selected becuz he could play the part well. As for the black dude in the PT, Padme's incompetent guard, and Mace Windu that just looked like racial pandering. And do I have to mention the various stereotypes throughout the PT.

And if you want to get technical, skin color is the product of thousands of years of evolution. Therefore, there is no way a fair skinned Luke, or :shudder: Shimi, could result from a hot desert climate. He did not even look sunburnt.

Luke should have looked more like this:
