Should Princess Leia have gotten a medal?

I know we're all curious as to why Chewbacca didn't get a medal, but should we also be curious as to why Princess Leia didn't get one? She risked as much as the men, if not more, so why shouldn't they give her a medal as well?

I disagree. The only thing legitimate she did is transfer to plans to R2-D2. Aside from that, she got kidnapped which later lead to the death of the entire population of Alderaan and Obi Wan Kenobi. After transfering the plans to R2-D2, she should have killed herself. Choosing to live eventually allowed Tarkin to discover the location of the hidden rebel base (after placing the homing becon on the Falcon which SAVED her from the Death Star).

I got it off another fellow's signature from another unrelated forum, I think it may have been part of some Rolling Stone story shoot from the time when ESB came out.I promptly saved it and would use it as a screensaver if i were able to. No payment is necessary, just spread the joy to those in need.....

BTW: Makes you wonder what the hell else is out there......
