Umm, apart from things like graphical text objects it worked nicely, but Yahtzee hasn't uploaded it yet. Maybe because some very minor changes have been made since the presently downloadable version (i.e. we fixed the problem with Matthew's birthday), and that might not work correctly with the previous versions, and their translations (because it looks stupid if the clashing messages are just left English, whereas the rest of the game is in some other language). Last time I checked there was only the Italian translation available, there might be more now, dunno.

Umm that sounds nice.If it is isn't very hard and annoying(I'm lazy) I could help with the translation in bulgarian. So David if you explain a bit further how the translations can be made maybe I'll get to work.

Just send an e-mail to Yahtzee about your intentions, and he'll tell you what to do. It's basically a really long text file, with empty lines between the English ones, which you have to fill out with the Bulgarian version.

Oh, and be more careful about the punctuation in the translation than here at the forums. wink.gif

Russian would probably be too problematic because I don't think the in-game font supports the Russian alphabet.
As I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, I realised that it could do with a lick of paint.

As far as I know the solution is to substitute font with the specially prepared russian one and write a couple of lines that switch font when russian translation is selected. We've done it with Tierra's "King's Quest 1 VGA" and with LucasFan's "Maniac Mansion Deluxe" and "New Adventures of Zak McKraken".

Well, if you can provide a .ttf russian alphabet font I'll look into it.

Well, I am willing to translate the games into german. These "special characters" aren't a problem.
I have too much spare time and translating from english to german is just too easy. smile.gif
If you want me to translate the games or at least one just send me the text files, Yahtzee. biggrin.gif

(I know, nobody knows me...but I'm a fan and I'm always watching these forums. biggrin.gif)

There's already a German translation.

I've sent you a mail with a couple of fonts and a picture with Russian Glyphs. If you need additional assistance I can send you an example of working game ("Black Cauldron" remake sources) translated into Russian.

It would be fun to translate Trilby's Note - You have to reprogramm the whole game again biggrin.gif

Yahtzee, do you going to make translatable version to other games? I really like to see 1213 translated to hungarian by David-kyo smile.gif

You do? huh.gif

Me too, actually, but Yahtzee always remained silent whenever I mentioned that I'd love to translate those as well. That shocking email from the junior admin would be a great challenge.

I played 5DAS's Hungarian version and really liked it. The translation of "Matthew wasn't the sharpest tool in the box" was pretty funny biggrin.gif

I played with the idea of translating games that Yahtzee puts the special font. But I have a VERY limited knowledge about programming sad.gif

And there is already a Hungarian translator here smile.gif
