In ESB, Boba Fett says to Vader regarding Han, "He's no good to me dead."

If that is true, why would Greedo try to shoot Solo in ANH?
It seems like everyone is over the nitpicking. Too bad.

The usual phrase when putting a bounty out on someone is "Dead or Alive." Maybe George thought about this, and decided that skinny little Greedo would have a hard time manhandling Han back to Jabba's place, and figured the drop in bounty for "dead" was worth the discount.

WHO THE HELL KNOWS? wacko.gif

I'm sure George Lucas doesn't.

Dead OR alive, well, that way, Boba, a guy with quite a reputation, would need to bring him back alive for his reputation, but Greedo just needed the money. Hence the oh-so-subtle name GREEDo

Understood, so does this mean that many of you are defending the "shoot first" scene or simply justifying Greedo's blood lust?

greedo, pokins, and sleezebagano should have their own sitcom.
THAT'S what the the new SW TV show should be.

No, I'm not defending it. I don't think it was a good call, frankly, I don't really care. From what I saw, the shot from Han didn't seem to be in reaction to Greedo shooting in the special edition. Unless Han was using force cognition, or whatever they're calling it, I don't see how he could have killed Greedo in reaction to Greedo trying to kill him. Now, again, I'm not defending it, I just was saying why I don't really give a damn one way or the other.

er... sure...

think about it... an aspiring pilot with an eating disdorder who hates the government, a bugeyed bounty hunter hunter who can't shoot straight but wan'ts to work for a syndicate, and a doctor who sells individual cigarettes and drugs to make ends meet who is rethinking his life...

they'd be the original odd triple...

they could call the the show FAT BOUNTY STICKS

Two and a half men....and a Rodian (8 pm): Sleazebaggno's death sticks ease Greedo's catarax and Porkins worries that he is losing his cool.
